Earlier I mentioned being able to drive a stick... a lot of older equipment on farms are stick shift - also a lot still run on diesel... Do they know which piece of equipment does what on a farm??? How to maintain the equipment?? Then just basic home essential-- like well water maintenance, windmill or pump? Type of electric power to run the farm?? The MAJOR SEPTIC TANK!!!! What about Critter Control--deer, Coyotes, raccoons, opossums, rat snakes, rats, mice, chicken hawks just to name a few critters I mean, this is a just a small list of things -- and if they think that they will get farmer John to tend to it for them... they are beyond stupid! The farmer will die first before he/she allows someone else to take their land and they certainly won't be slaves to any ethnic race on their land!!! in all fairness the information is publicly available and easily learned and applied. but do blacks actually want to be farmers? no they want to be plantation owners. In all fairness- just because you can read it or you tube it--- does NOT mean you can apply it!! Try milking a 1000lb cow who is not wanting to cooperate! try tube feeding a calf!!! gads I had a vet show me, practically hold my hand as I did it... and when I went home and had to do it solo..... gads!!!! I worried every damn time I was going to drown the poor thing! And I am sorry but, you can not learn HOW to Farm or Ranch just from watching a video or reading up on it.... You will get the basics.... and it is good for reference when you are unsure of something... but, it takes years to actually LEARN - through trial and error--- and a damn good old farmer, who spent his entire life farming and ranching!!! to guide you and hopefully encourage you... and even laugh at you !!!! People who have NEVER farmed and think 'public' internet sources will give them all the tools to do are going to starve!! and BTW-- it takes a lot of monies to maintain a farm!!! You're mixing "farming" with "husbandry". They're not the same thing and the work involved is completely different. Husbandry is simply the practice of caring for what you have that provides sustenance. It isn't exclusive to livestock. Farming is a lifestyle centered around the raising of a family using agrarian principles. I say this as someone who farms and maintains herds and flocks. |
