How do you want to plant them-- Amish style or modern? Amish is cheapest, but a hell of a lot harder then you think!! Modern, well we go back to the equipment needed... you got a lot of monies??? the old stuff breaks down and you need to know where to get the parts and/or rig it up!! New equipment is expensive and cost a lot to fix... Then there is storage of grains- will you do it onsite or at a grainery? what is the going price of the grain?? did you prepare your soil for the crop??? hell I can go on and on--- but you google your little heart out... and may I suggest you start small with your farm.. try you south facing window for herbs and a planter outside that is about 3 to 4 feet deep and 2 feet wide to grow 1 tomato plant (and if you want a variety of tomatoes, you will need to put some distance between the different tomato species..) Pay attention to the weather... do not water when the sun is fully out-- you may need to water twice a day... if you are able to successfully grow tomatoes- I suggest that you learn to properly can them and even try to sell them at a farmers market! Good luck my fellow future farmer You don't need tractors or combines for farming. Plants naturally grow on their own. All you need is a little prep and set up and you can have bug free, easy vegetables. Again, plants NATURALLY GROW ON THEIR OWN. You don't have to do much at all but plant them and pick them. That may work for your little garden in your backyard. Not in commercial farming. Idiot. Even a backyard garden is a battle against nature. Anyone who thinks they can grow a sustainable crop without battling bugs, disease, soil imbalances, etc., has obviously never gardened. |

What about Critter Control--deer, Coyotes, raccoons, opossums, rat snakes, rats, mice, chicken hawks just to name a few critters I mean, this is a just a small list of things -- and if they think that they will get farmer John to tend to it for them... they are beyond stupid! The farmer will die first before he/she allows someone else to take their land and they certainly won't be slaves to any ethnic race on their land!!! No they don't know any of those things. They don't know how to change the oil, sharpen a mower blade, put a new carburetor on a weedeater, shingle a roof, change a flat, run electrical wire, fix a plumbing leak, weld, operate a table saw etc. They don't know how to do anything. The American Indians did this on planting the 3 sisters. Planting corn, beans, and Squash. They each help the other plant to survive. The corn grew tall to give beans support, the beans put nitrogen in the soil, and the squash protect the moisture in the ground with the leaves. They all work together. Small plot farming to feed a tribe and large-scale commercial farming to feed the populations of cities are two different things. |
