What is wrong with people? Always making the worst choices. But if you said anything at the time, you were blasted as a loony.
Remember they said insourcing would more than makeup for the outsourcing going on? All lies to benefit Wall Street.

You can start with way too many people in today's America having tender feelings for lousy, corrupt liberals (or leftwingers for people who have warm feelings for the word "liberal") like Joe Biden, or at least less resentment towards people like him, versus people like Donald Trump. Multiply that for both the political and private-sector, both the government and social, and you end up with the toxic brew America is now tasting.
