my father was 12 when had to provide for his family, his father died from silicious in a mine. My dads cousin blew off his hand lighting dynamite to blow open ground to mine feldspar. My father's story is very similar. He was 9 when his dad died of the Spanish Flu in 1918. That left his mom and five sisters. He worked to help them survive.

My dad was a milkman. I'm not sure how old he was when he got that job. When I think of how hard he worked, my heart breaks. He carried those glass milk bottles up steps, delivering to houses on hills.

Had his first heart attack at 50. Never worked again. He was devastated.
