Re: Who Has Had Covid 19 Here on GLP? Share your experience, please!
I'm 99% sure I had it, had a strange sore throat, the week before a friend had given me a whole load of special milkshake drinks for ill people who can't or don't eat properly. They are full of vitamins and I had way too many of them. I think the reason it was so mild could be because of this. Anyway, I see my dad most days, he then got ill but was far worse and unable to get out of bed for 3 days. He's not been ill for years and said never like that. Luckily he battled through it and didn't need to get further medical help.
Aside from this, a guy I used to work with died of it and my step brothers wife who is Cypriot lost 4 members of her family.

For people that don't think its real, it is. They are maybe partly right though, I think its possibly man-made and possibly being spread.
Worldwide until last week you had more chance of being hit by lightening. It has spread quickly to every single country on earth, yet by numbers the UK where I am has it worst per head, yet Scotland adjoining us hardly anything.

Since I have a doctor in the family, I'll tell what she sees. She works with the 'underprivileged' and has a lot of obesity, diabetics and renal cases.

So it is tearing through her population of patients. What surprises her is how two people in a household will be quite ill and perhaps two people in the same household will not get it at all.

What also surprises her is the phenomenal variance in how people get sick.

She believes it is more a vasculitis than anything. It attacks the blood transport system and how blood is able to deliver oxygen to the major organs. It is also very much a 'cytokine storm', so the immune system causes the problem because there is terrible body=wide inflammation.

So she says if you are already in oxidative stress, i.e., already have something that causes inflammation in the body you are starting behind the 8 ball.

She says that you MUST keep your body alkaline, STAY AWAY FROM SUGARS, that is a very important thing.

Also, LOSE the belly fat. It has a hormone profile very different than butt or thigh fat. Belly fat creates cytokines which cause inflammation. You can actually lose belly fat more simply than subcutaneous fat.

She does weird things, like takes cold showers (look it up), drinks water with a tablespoon of baking soda a couple times a day, wouldn't touch a soda for anything, cooks with and also swishes coconut oil in her mouth for the monolauric acid properties, takes HCQ, and zinc (quercetin for all of us who are not doctors) and thank God she hasn't gotten sick yet. She takes her vitamin D3/K2 very seriously, of course vitamin C, NAC and eats broccoli sprouts, because they create glutathione.

My Aunt's father enlaw had it. He was mid 80s and had many health problems. The flu would have killed him.

My sister who is a nurse tested "positive". She was removed from work for two weeks. Even after her tests days later came back negative. He had a slight fever for a few days. She is mid 30s in age.

I work in a hospital and cases are rising rapidly
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73442613

see the videos of nurses calling out hospitals for focing covid treatment on covid negative patients.

why would hospitals actively campaign to do that? Who in management would possibly do that? Someone who would get paid $39,000 every time someone is put on a ventillator, willingly or not?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77432802

the hospitals are owned by the most wicked, vile demons, who else charges people their life savings because they get sick, think about that

and then they make you worship them. disgusting beyond belief. you don't even have the dignity and self awareness to hate the people who have economically murdered you

you all go to your death loving the people who murdered you, and that's the whole idea. so that you never seek justice.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77717569

The medical/pharma industry has dark roots (modern medicine goes back to NAZI Germany). You have to take charge of your own health (go alternative, holistic) to avoid the trap... but many do recover that go into the hospitals.. there are still some good nurses and doctors.

I live in N.C. I had what I assumed was a nasty chest cold that started right before Halloween. Very violent cough is the best I can describe it. I didn’t get over it until after Thanksgiving. Getting my breathing back to normal was what dragged on. I tired so easily preparing for Thanksgiving because I felt like I still wasn’t getting enough oxygen.I don’t live far from UNC where this virus was being studied by researchers. So yeah that made me think back. Schools here had a bad outbreak of something back in January. I got an email from my child’s teacher that she had never seen anything like it. So many kids got sick and they had days on end of 6 kids out of 20 only showing up for class. She had never seen something spread so fast and cause so many kids to get sick at one time. Then my SO got a bad cold around February. I have never seen him so sick. He had the same symptoms I had back in October. My kids never caught it or they did but they caught it with very little symptoms. A few years ago I decided to stop giving my kids the annual flu vaccine. Maybe that’s what helped them because the schools were hit so hard they almost closed. My kids used to stay sick every winter like clock work. But not since I stopped the flu vaccine and I’m not an anti vaccine freak!

I have a fair amount of online friends who have had this, but counting only people in real life, 2 definitely and my husband very likely.

One has recovered and has antibodies, but is still experiencing shortness of breath and intense joint pain. Had no preexisting conditions and was very ill for over a month. The other was elderly but didn't have anything other than arthritis and he died from it in about a week from the appearance of symptoms.

My husband has RA and Lyme and has been feeling very unwell for a week. We've been very careful and doing an herbal and vitamin prophylaxis. But we're in an "Antimask League - There is no pathogen" stronghold. So now he has a dry cough, low grade fever, extreme exhaustion, gastric distress, constant headache, and brain fog.

To clarify, prophylaxis is only a mitigation methodology, not a force field or positive pressure biohazard suit.

I have no faith in the PCR test, so we are going to do treatment and then see about getting an antibody test.

Lady in our office lost smell and taste, got tested, Positive. took 10 days off then tested negative and now she is back to work. She said it was less than a mild cold for her. Becky is 55 years old...

My old coworker at another shop said he tested positive and said he was achy and felt more like a bad cold but is recovering now and better after 7 days.

One more friend tested positive (his company made him test because of exposure). He said he barely had the sniffles and also said it was like a mild cold.

so for 3 that I KNOW have/had it, not a big deal like the MSM is saying every damn night

It's been long enough now that we should be able to ascertain a little about the percentage of people who have been infected or become ill with Covid 19. Or those who have been asymptomatic and tested positive, too.

If you or someone close to you has had it, and feel alright about it, please leave an overview of the experience and the outcome.

I'll leave my experience in the comments as well.

There may be some overlap on some of the choices, but this should give us a bit of an overview of the GLP experience with this. If you find that there needs to be a more thorough explanation, please add it.

No smack talk, please. There's plenty of that elsewhere!

My brother in law and nephew have it also niece of his who live with them has it

Now with that being said.

My brother in law has health issues already, he has some kind of heart trouble, asthma, he has diabetes, hes over weight

Hes had it for a week now, yes he had the test and was positive

He did have a cough, he did have a fever, he was weak, he couldn't wall for long periods, he go to bathroom and go right back to bed,he did walk a little to exercise lungs, and deep breathes, and hard cough to keep lungs from filling up with mucus

Anyways he is feeling better, he didnt take any meds

So if he can recover even though he had all these other health issues then this tells me what I've been thinking and saying this whole time

The virus is real

But....

Not as bad as they make it out to be

My area of this southern city has just last week experienced it's first three possible exposures or cases. All three were hospitality workers. The businesses voluntarily shut down for cleaning and for all employees to be tested. Non of these cases have been confirmed as of yet.

If COVID hits you hard you WILL know it. I've had the flu 3 times in my life, and COVID is different. Grandfather and I had it in Feb. I thought it was swine flu, but COVID lasts longer (a month for me), coughing is endless, the alternating fever/chills, rash on toes, joint and muscle pain was horrible.

My grandfather is 86 and had to be hospitalized for first time in his life.

Yes. It's low. But there's a good amount of truck traffic and lots of travel to Saint Louis etc. He did a repair quote for some people who have to gocto STL every week for medical reasons. Also some frequented supply businesses take zero precautions and he forgot to wear a face covering once.

We've been married nearly 20 years and been through the allergy and flu gamut. This isn't that. At all.

But we'll get an antibody test when we're better and see.

I and my husband are on day 11 of quarantine. I was notified that my dental hygienist had tested positive and was very sick with it. She cleaned my teeth for at least an hour and so I was very exposed to it. No symptoms until yesterday and I'm not even sure if it's considered a symptom of covid. I got out of bed and fainted and struck my head on the dresser. I was so woozy I couldn't even walk to the bathroom without my husbands help. Today I'm still dizzy but not as bad as yesterday. I was taking a lot of vitamin C and developed the runs for a couple of days and so maybe that is the reason for it. I sure hope so! I don't plan to get tested even though the county requested it when they put me in quarantine. I don't trust the tests! Did anyone else have severe dizziness as a symptom of covid? I'm a little worried!

I'm in NJ.

- 2 different friends' elderly parents currently have it and are in ICU. They are in their early 80s and are both expected to recover but it's been like 6 or 7 weeks they have been very ill.
- One teenage classmate of my daughter had it well after "lockdown" began, her father is a prison guard and was the likely culprit; he avoided testing or isn't telling ... (this is currently an issue in the community bc wife runs at home daycare and didn't tell anyone teenager had covid)
- My neice's soccer coach and his entire family had it
- My cousin's baby daddy got a shock when he tested positive for antibodies but doesn't remember ever being sick
- A local doctor ... folks I know had to be tested because their doctor had it very early on after returning from Italy, and was seeing patients before he knew he was positive. My friends tested negative - I don't know if any of his patients were infected.

Re: Who Has Had Covid 19 Here on GLP? Share your experience, please!
Had it (so i think) back in late Feb / early March.

Started feeling feverish and crummy on a Friday afternoon, no big deal, took off from work early and headed home.

By Sunday night I was a mess, Advil did a good job of controlling the fever symptoms. Breathing was a bit of an issue (I'm asthmatic and have albuterol and a nebulizer on hand, so breathing issues are nothing new for me).

Sunday night rolls around and I waited on the Advil too long, I got a case of the cold chills, shaking really hard, well, that triggered my asthma. I took the advil, it took about 30 minutes to catch up, in the meantime I laid on the bed on my stomach (the only position that felt marginally good) and lived hard on my nebulizer. If I didn't have that nebulizer I wouldn't be here today, it was really that bad.

repeat the above on Monday night as well, almost exactly.

I ended up taking Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off from work, I never take days off from work.

This, by far, was the sickest I've been in 40 years.

It cleared by Wednesday but the lingering breathing issues hung on for a week or so. I had other symptoms too, but the breathing thing trumped everything else. Hard to describe what it feels like when you can't get enough air and think you might be dying...

Why would you be that sick and not go to the hospital?

Voted NO

Have to add;

Ambulance guys let a neighbor with known heart disease die of heart attack

They would not come because they had no MASKS and let him die
It took them 45 minutes, when they could be as fast as just a couple minutes

When they finally arrived he was dead

He was then listed as COVID death

Mind you
