SpaceX Launch of GPS III-3 Satellite

Launch time has been pushed back to the end of today's window at 4:10 pm eastern, 30 minutes from now. A Falcon 9 will attempt to launch a GPS satellite and then the first stage will land on the drone ship. Weather has a 60% chance of acceptable conditions.

SpaceX has been AWFUL busy the last months. Very interesting.

But did you hear this news?

"OneWeb Files for Chapter 11 – after launching 74 LEO satellites, has gone bankrupt… So now, what happens to those satellites drifting in orbit, above earth?" See: [link to daviddilling.com]

Wo what happens to the 74 LEO\s they have up there, above us?

Yup, I heard. The UK reportedly made a bid to have their satellites used as navigation satellites.
[link to advanced-television.com (secure)]
I don't think it's about using the satellites they already launched so much as it is about modifying the ones that were already being constructed and hadn't been launched yet in order to serve a new purpose. I don't think they're going to get very far with that, but props to them for creative thinking. Others are reportedly bidding for the assets too, including the Chinese.

This is a GPS satellite launch, so taxpayers pay for it. And thanks to SpaceX and rocket reuse, the Space Force is paying less for it than they would with an older launch provider. You're welcome. If you don't like GPS then I hope you're not a hypocrite and you never use it on your phone, take a plane flight, or even take an Uber trip. The rest of us will enjoy the latest generation of GPS technology without you.

OneWeb is a private company, not to be confused with SpaceX or Starlink. Not all aerospace companies survive.

Yes, night shuttle launches were very dramatic. Have seen them night sailing off Palm Beach and staging from the Bahamas.

Neat polar launch in 1993 up US east coast at 0100.

Have they ever had a landing on the barge without the camera cutting off at touchdown? Seems like it happens every-time.

I know it's real. I just look forward to the day where spacex gets a smooth video (up close) of the landing so ward of the low IQ faketards.
 Quoting: Chip

They've done it before.

Sadly, the truth doesn't matter to the low IQ tards, and they will actively ignore examples where they had uninterrupted footage of the landing. They'll also ignore the fact you can see LZ-1 landings in person.

Re: SpaceX Launch of GPS III-3 Satellite
"The existing GPS II system is accurate, but GPS III is going to take things to a whole new level. The next generation of GPS is expected to be 3 times more accurate than existing GPS technology. That means the 5 to 10-meter accuracy you see now with existing GPS technology will be slashed to 1 to 3 meters. The signal also will be more powerful, allowing it to overcome annoying interference that degrades the signal.

What that means to you is your smartphone or other navigation device will be able to pinpoint your location with even more accuracy and reliability than before........"

Social distancing wont be as important now. Now 3 feet instead of 6 feet. Pardon me if I dont throw a party over this one.

In the early days of gps wasn’t there a directive to deliberately offset the
Accuracy for civilian service? This was to deter rogue operatives using for targeting weapons. Know anything about that Mut?
