Anonymous Coward User ID: 79093586 United States 07/01/2020 06:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I can agree with the OP up to a point… Some of the people that don’t wear a mask/gloves will certainly spread the virus to some other people that will die. So, yeah these people are technically murderers. And I guess the others would be enablers, by making it more socially acceptable for the people it will end up being murderers to have been imperiling their fellow citizens. Quoting: Patriot 37380391 I’m often not worth the majority in these type of discussions because I grew up in a small town and have small-town values. In small towns we look after one another. And that’s why it’s really hard for me to understand why so many people want to wrap themselves up in their constitutional rights in order to do some things so detrimental to their country. So, instead of me making it clear to these unpatriotic, Low-lifes that don’t deserve to be in this country for one more second of their no-goods lives, I’ll just try to learn something about how self-centered they are and why they can care so little for their country, which gave them those constitutional privileges. How can constitution-quoting, flagwavers care does little about doing the right thing by their country? How can they be constitution-quoting flagwaivers without having any morals? When people quote the Constitution, they generally do so unknowingly. They think they know and understand their rights, when in reality they have no idea what they are talking about. To that end, I am curious to ask these supposed Constitution experts what their thoughts are on the recent United State Supreme Court ruling SOUTH BAY UNITED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH, ET AL. v. GAVIN NEWSOM, GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA. In fact, the United States Supreme Court denied the Churches injuction holding the restrictions did not violate the First Amendment. In fact, the court notes that "the precise question of when restrictions on particular social activities should be lifted during the pandemic is a dynamic and fact-intensive matter subject to reasonable disagreement. Our Constitution principally entrusts “[t]he safety and the health of the people” to the politically accountable officials of the States “to guard and protect.” Jacobson v. Massachusetts, 197 U. S. 11, 38 (1905). When those officials “undertake[ ] to act in areas fraught with medical and scientific uncertainties,” their latitude “must be especially broad.” Marshall v. United States, 414 U. S. 417, 427 (1974). Where those broad limits are not exceeded, they should not be subject to second-guessing by an “unelected federal judiciary,” which lacks the background, competence, and expertise to assess public health and is not accountable to the people. See Garcia v. San Antonio Metropolitan Transit Authority, 469 U. S. 528, 545 (1985)." |

My favorite past time is to wear my fancy new Trump hat without a mask in the areas of town where the people who can be triggered easily live. Its a hoot. What if wearing a mask made you look like the Lone Ranger? Donald Trump likes his dark black mask because it makes him look like the Lone Ranger: Fox News: "Do you think people will see [you wearing a mask] at some point?" Trump: "I mean, I'd have no problem. Actually, I had a mask on. I sort of liked the way it looked, OK? I thought it was OK. It was a dark black mask and I thought it looked OK. Looked like the Lone Ranger. But, uh, no, I have no problem with that. I think - and if people feel good about it, they should do it. Thread: Trump flips on Fox News today: "I’m All for Masks, I Think Masks Are Good" Yes, he choses when to wear a mask. What's wrong with that? Key word being CHOICE....I chose not to wear one, those who think others should be forced to should just stay indoors and melt into a non-binary goop. Quoting: CuriousSeeker2999 A scenario ....Let's say you woke up with a terrible cough, a fever, and severe body aches. Immediately, you rush to the doctor and unfortunately, you’re diagnosed with COVID-19. For the last two weeks, you’ve been unaware that you were infected and you’ve ignored "the rules." You've gotten together with some close friends for pizza, had a few people over, even visited a park and a beach. You figured, “I don’t feel sick. I have the right to keep living my normal life. No one can tell me what to do." With your diagnosis, you spend the next few days at home on the couch, feeling pretty crappy; but then you’re well again because you’re young, healthy and strong. Lucky you. But your best friend caught it from you during a visit to your house, and because she didn't know she was contagious, she visited her 82-year-old grandfather, who uses oxygen tanks daily to help him breathe because he has COPD and heart failure. Now, he’s dead. Your co-worker, who has asthma, caught it too, during your little pizza get-together. Now, he’s in the ICU, and he's spread it to a few others in his family, too--but they won't know that for another couple of weeks yet. The cashier at the restaurant where you picked up the pizza carried the infection home to his wife, who has MS, which makes her immunosuppressed. She’s not as lucky as you, so she’s admitted to the hospital because she’s having trouble breathing. She may need to be placed in a medically-induced coma and intubated; she may not get to say goodbye to her loved ones. She may die surrounded by machines, with no family at her bedside. All because you couldn't stand the inconvenience of a mask; of staying home; of changing your familiar routines for just a little while. Because you couldn't stand spending two seconds to put on a mask. Because you have the right, above all others' rights, to continue living your normal life and no one, I mean no one, has the right to tell you what to do. #SocialDistancing = It’s not about YOU! #WearAMask = It's not about YOU! #StayHome = It's not about YOU! #GetTested = It's not about YOU! #MaskItOrCasket = It's not about YOU! Wear your masks and wash your hands! Wow! That’s was a lot of typing. Have you actually read any studies about the effectiveness of mask use? If so, were the studies randomized with verified results? [link to USE_FULL_LINK (secure)] That link will take you to a white paper that cites 12 studies (over a 10 plus year time period) showing there is no statistical data showing masks are effective stopping the spread. Also, the 12 studies do have random selection with verified results. Also, did you watch both of the WHO announcements about asymptomatic spread? I’m talking about the headlines, but the actual announcement? I’ll give you the spark notes, actual studies (don’t know the details) are showing asymptomatic spread is very rare. The next day, the WHO said a lot without much substance, but they did say a “model” not a study, is showing up to 40% asymptomatic spread. So we have high quality studies showing masks don’t work, and studies vs a model showing asymptomatic don’t spread c19. What evidence do you have? |

The combination of UV light which kills the virus in seconds, the dilution of any virus because of the fresh air and wind and the lack of 'reusing' infected air as you may have happen in a closed, confined space make it almost impossible to catch outdoors unless you were literally breathing right on top of an infected person for a long period of time. This, these 'beach closings' for 4th of July make NO sense. It will force people to stay home and actually INCREASE infections since you are more likely to catch Covid-19 indoors from other infected people. Best thing they could do is encourage everyone to spend as much time OUTDOORS as possible. This would greatly reduce the infection rate. |
