A friend of mine has a few steers that are finished out. They were supposed to go for processing this month, but have to wait until later in the summer because of the virus.

on a different note, they were advertising 20 ribeyes for 40 dollars on a radio station that I listen to while driving, sure it was a meat truck in a mall parking lot, and poor quality, but still, that's dang cheap. I was thinking the same thing, slaughtering the cattle because of no feed......

The Covid scare has been going on for months now? I totally believe the OP’s claim about shortages at his/her store because there are still limits on meat where I live.
The question is — which hasn’t been answered in this thread — WHY are there still shortages of meat and even toilet paper months later?
By the way, I tried finding disinfecting whites on Instacart and they were totally unavailable. I then looked on eBay and they were likewise unavailable. Why???

Here in NM where I live meat is abundant and on sale right now at the store I go to. I saw no shortage of anything when I picked up my babyback ribs for tomorrow. Maybe they’re just good at making it look like they have plenty, maybe not. Should ask next time I go in.

Thinking about just stocking up on protein powders and other forms of protein that keep longer.

Lots of feed corn planted in virginia. Eastern shore virginia...never seen so much. Usually its soy, sorghum, corn mix...this year mostly corn.

I've been listening to "conspiracy theorists" on youtube telling people to stock up on Non-perishable food, ex. rice, pasta, beans, canned food etc. for over 4 years now because of a coming economic collapse....so I stocked up quite a bit, a long time ago. It was starting to feel like nothing would ever happen and then Covid came along.

Some people think Covid is just a cover to hide the real economic collapse that was going to happen anyway. All of the countries are so far in debt.

My son is on a gluten free diet and I notice some of the Gluten free products we usually buy are missing. I don't know if it means anything.

I went to local Sam's Club two days ago....the fresh meat case was very very very low.

They are not only low here but prices have almost doubled on beef.

Some of the shortages can be attributed to processing plants being either closed or working at minimal levels due to employees having Covid-19. Example Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods has not been taking in any commodities for a month while they try and get people healthy. Consequently, they are not milling or shipping very many of their products - ie flours and grains.

I'm guessing a lot more food producers are experiencing issues as well, but the media is keeping it buried so the Peoples don't panic.

Don't eat that shit. It's like the Omaha steaks you see advertised on TV. They inject it full of liquid to pad the weight and it does not taste right at all. God only knows what they're filling it with.

A lot more stuff comes from China than we realize. Not just clothes or appliances or smart phones, etc....but FOOD and parts for machines and autos/trucks that move food, etc. It's a breakdown in the entire supply chain and not just with the END GOODS but with the items that are used to manufacture, process & distribute them.

It was ALWAYS a terrible idea to rely on ANY foreign country to produce all of our manufacturing. Absolutely INSANE violation of national security. And especially a country like COMMUNIST CHINA.

Also, since so many businesses have either folded or are on skeleton crews since the bullshit COVID lockdowns, that has ALSO affected the entire supply chain.

Eventually it may come down to the military to move stuff as I'm not sure that private companies actually have the competence to manage themselves anymore - their management is too obsessed with virtual signaling for BLM and other freak groups.
