Happy Independence Day!
I went down to the mandated closed beach today (I live in Commifornia). There were a group of people protesting the beach closure. My family walked through agreeing with their discontent and walked down the ramp, stepped over the caution tape, and played catch on the beach. Lifeguard came by to inform us that the beach was closed. I thanked him and told him that it didn't make sense. We continued to play catch and then went to the ocean and built sand castles. He came by again and asked if we were going to leave, I replied, "eventually". The police came by and informed us the beach was closed and that when they left we could "do what do". We stayed another hour then left so I could go to work.
We can't take back your freedom without action. After that 20-30 more people ventured down to the beach.
I'll probably go back tomorrow morning because the family enjoyed it and our actions in a small way represent Independence Day better than me having a BBQ at home.
Stay free GLP, and remember our forefathers who gave their lives for our freedom that's being stripped away.
