Gun on the seat, round chambered. Seat belt is off in case I need to be mobile or exit quickly. I slow, looming for an alternate route that avoid the Orc gathering. If there isn’t one, I look at options for turning around or reversing.

If you fear for your life you are legally entitled to protect yourself, which includes fleeing by available means. Once your car is stopped in the middle of a crowd it would be very easy for one of the mob to inconspicuously shoot into your vehicle. They've already done it. Duck down as low as you can in the seat and hit the gas until you are clear of the threat. Its better than being killed or dragged out and beaten.

The driver in the white car made a choice to go around the illegal road block. The terrorists unexpectedly scattered to the side of the road towards his car. He tried to miss them and instead hit the thugs who thought they were safe behind the vehicle blockade. There was no turning around or going backwards on the freeway. If he stops he may be killed. If he slows down he could be shot in passing. I don't know that he had many choices. I'm just trying to put myself in his shoes in case this happens to me or any other law-abiding free American.
