Try to get some online or at the local vitamin shop. Question: How do you know when or if you're taking TOO MUCH zinc?? Is that a concern? Because too much zinc can weaken the immune system. Quoting: Butch DeFeo Do you take zinc 365 days a year? Or is it on and off? I’m a Nutritional Therapist and one of the functional tests I perform on clients is the Zinc Taste Test. It’s very simple. You take two teaspoons of Aquarius Zinc solution and swish it around in your mouth. If it tastes bitter and strong you not zinc deficient. If it tastes like water or has hardly any taste at all you are slightly zinc deficient, if it tastes sweet you are severely zinc deficient. My experience is that 80 to 90 percent of people are zinc deficient to one extent or another. The most frequent reason is lack of stomach acid, which is an entirely different subject. Biotics brand is the one I use just because I have a wholesale account with them and I’m confident that they produce clean, very high quality products. I’m sure other brands are probably fine. If you are interested in reading about the epidemic of low stomach acid you can read my articles at kodiakcompass.com . They are the two top stories posted there right now. Thanks! Great information. Yeah I've been taking quite a lot of zinc orotate, so sometimes wonder if it's time to taper down for a while or not. Will check this out. Is there a way to know if you've had too much zinc?? For sure the Aqueous (I didn’t check the spell checking in my previous post and it auto corrected Aqueous to Aquarius) zinc will be really bitter and strong tasting if you zinc full or saturated. There may be other functional tests to determine if you have taken too much zinc, I just don’t know them. But I do know that you can get zinc toxicity so it’s good to be aware of that. |

Thank you for posting! I found the link to your site and just read the first very interesting article: [link to www.medpagetoday.com (secure)] Thanks! People who have weak stomach acid (which is about 90% of people over 50 and younger people who have been taking antacid tablets or worse, acid blockers) will not absorb enough of most of the nutrients they need and this includes zinc. With the zinc there is a feedback loop whereby you need zinc to build strong stomach acid and if you don’t have strong stomach acid you won’t absorb zinc. Zinc is used in over 500 processes in the body. There is a Biotics supplement (HCl) that increases stomach acid to its normal level and it’s cheap and works really really well. In Nutritional Therapy it is well known that taking HCl to increase your stomach acid is the single most effective thing a person can do to increase their health and happiness! I read that article you gave me. It was great! I’m going to include Quercetin in my Covid Kit. |

How much quercetin would one have to take to be comparable to a dose of hydroxychloroquine? Does anybody know?" Quoting: Prayandprepare000 I found this: [link to www.cancertreatmentsresearch.com (secure)] Quercetin What is this: Quercetin is an extract found in many fruits, vegetables, leaves, seeds, and grains and in high amounts in onions. It can be found at online shops as food supplement in capsules such as e.g. 500mg/capsule, and is relatively cheap. Next to extracts such as Curcumin, Green tea extract, Berberine, Quercetin is one of the most relevant natural extracts in the fight against cancer (Ref.) as well as auto-immune disease and allergic reactions (Ref.). What is the potential: Quercetin has important anti-viral (Ref.1, Ref.2, Ref.3, etc.) activities as well as anti-inflammatory (Ref.), both of which aspects are very important in prevention and/or treatment to reduce potential lethal mechanisms in Coronavirus infected patients. Quercetin has already proven successful at treating Ebola and Zika viruses and researchers in Québec believe it could prove effective against COVID-19 (Ref.). The Foundation of the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) anounced a $1 million contribution from the Lazaridis Family Foundation to support research led by the researchers in Québec on the antiviral drug isoquercetin (Ref.) Quercetin makes very much sense to use as is a MCT (1-4) inhibitor which as a result inhibits fermentation and in turn inhibits viral replication, due to similar mechanisms as discussed in the Vitamin C section above Quercetin is also a Zinc ionophore (please see the discussion on ionophore in the Hydroxychloroquine section) How to take: In the preventive phase, I would take 1g/day and for active disease I would take 3g/day. If possible, such dose as 3g/day should be increased step by step. On this line, eating (not cocked) onion should also have some preventive role due to the high Quercetin content. Thank you for this. Bottom line is 1gm/day for prevention and 3gm/day if sick. AND take your zinc. And an antibiotic if you've got covid. India uses doxycycline which is easy to get. Very good. The dose in a normal multivitamin is fine most of the time, walgreens for example has pills that mega doses for when your actually sick or fear your at risk. Yeah, probably the best course to take, is to take a rather small dose each day. Because there is such a thing as zinc toxicity in the human body (too much zinc). by the level of copper and lead pollution you will hardly ever reach too much zinc. |

We further tested quercetin, an antioxidant flavanoid, against CQ-induced hepatoxicity and found encouraging results as quercetin was able to drastically reduce the oxidative stress and hepatotoxicity resulting at higher dosages of CQ administration. In conclusion, our study strongly suggests co administration of antioxidant flavonoid like quercetin along with CQ for antimalarial therapy. This is particularly important when CQ is administered as long-term prophylactic treatment for malaria as chronic exposure has shown to be resulting in higher dose level of drug in the body."
