Minimum wage in 1976 was $2.30/hour which is $4,784 a year which is equivalent due to inflation to $21,369 today.

Look at the cable companies... everyone is dropping them, so instead of lowering prices, they jack them up!!!

44 yrs later and 4 science degrees and I still earn minimum wage. Its about luck and who you know.

Their plan was to equalize global economies remember? That means anywhere prices are low, they're going to go up in order to bring prices in other places down. Now of course the logical way to make people like the idea of globalism would've been to bring down prices everywhere so they're at something like early 80's levels. Oh no, not when clones of the three stooges run the world. Unfortunately globalists just aren't that smart. $45,000 base pay today is equivalent to $22,500 in 1990 which was a lousy wage then.

So basically if you and your wife make $90,000 then you are making what a single guy working as an industrial mechanic or electrician made as a craftsman in 1990...and working in a very low expense region.

They hakved wages and that is not even discussing health insurance which was ruined along with most benefits.

Sure some in urban areas make MORE, but what is median price home cost? It's ridiculous, so you make even less in purchasing power than someone in a rural area.

And the thing is prices are not going up for the most part. Portion sizes are going down.

Now I have to buy the big package of toilet paper that cost me 16.99. The same size, and brand I wanted, used to cost me 12 tops. But that and beef are the two major price jumps.

I have to buy ammo and rubbing alcohol in smaller sizes but with slightly bigger prices. no more bulk or large size bottles.

I'd say 2 more stimulus checks, 6-9 more months of BLM, and one election is all its going to take for us to start looking like the Weimar Republic.

Here's a hint. Order your supplements from a local pharmacist, I have gotten them at cost if they have to order them in...

In 1990 with so much industry even in rural areas, $45 K was a normal blue collar wage and with good benefits too.

I don't see how average people live now. Those jobs don't exist, only bad service jobs.

The middle class was destroyed, real estate and car prices are outrageous, and food is generally expensive, though pork is still a bargain.

Most likely, your children and grandchildren will live with you as was the norm before 1945. The Democrats and RINOs ruined the economy which gave rise to suburban life from 1946-1990. The death knell was in 2000 and worsened severely by 2008.
