The positive numbers are also being inflated by people getting a test everyday and by the antigen test being included. Anyone can look at the hospital situation with a state. A lot of areas in Florida are below their hospitalizations. Some areas are at normal levels, and currently no hospital is being overwhelmed. The average age for the positive results are between 30 to 35. The vast majority of this age group doesn't need a hospital. If they do need the hospital, it's only for a couple of nights. Only on the rarest occasion is someone 35 and younger go into the ICU for this virus. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77201779 State statistics released Sunday show an additional 10,059 confirmed cases, with the total reaching 200,111. The highest number of confirmed cases in one day came Saturday, when more than 11,400 cases were reported. Florida has seen a large increase in cases in the past several weeks, with nearly 60,000 confirmed in the last seven days, about 30% of the total count. The state's positivity rate, or the percentage of tests coming back positive, rose to a record 15.04% Sunday. Florida also reported 29 new deaths, bringing the death toll to 3,832. Miami GOP Mayor Francis Suarez said Sunday that the high numbers of positive tests both in his county and in the state are “extremely worrisome.” “It’s clear that the growth is exponential at this point,” he said. “Our county closed down the beaches for the July Fourth weekend in the hopes that all these rules will have an impact — a positive impact. It takes a little bit of time to find out exactly but we’re obviously very closely monitoring hospitalizations and we’re very, very closely monitoring the death rate, which our lagging indicators that give us the impression that we have to take much stricter — much stricter measurements — measures.” [link to www.nbcmiami.com (secure)] Suuuuure we did.. |

Same reason a vaccine won't work. What’s the nature of immunity and how long does it last? Immunologists are working feverishly to determine what immunity to SARS-CoV-2 could look like, and how long it might last. Much of the effort has focused on ‘neutralizing antibodies’, which bind to viral proteins and directly prevent infection. Studies have found2 that levels of neutralizing antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 remain high for a few weeks after infection, but then typically begin to wane. However, these antibodies might linger at high levels for longer in people who had particularly severe infections. “The more virus, the more antibodies, and the longer they will last,” says immunologist George Kassiotis of the Francis Crick Institute in London. Similar patterns have been seen with other viral infections, including SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome). Most people who had SARS lost their neutralizing antibodies after the first few years. But those who had it really severely still had antibodies when re-tested 12 years later, says Kassiotis. [link to www.nature.com (secure)] |

I live in one of the densest counties in Florida. Every morning I drive by a place that has a line of people out the front door and down the sidewalk on a very busy highway of people testing for the dreaded COVID19. I see many closer than 6 feet and joking and laughing like it's a big FN party. I'm sure they probably want the COVID19 so they get paid time off, as it's a mandatory two weeks pay if they get tested positive. NONE of them looked sick, if you were sick you couldn't handle standing out in the Florida sun, like I said happy and joking around is what it appeared to me. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78584664 That’s how you know this is all bs From what I've read/heard is they moved regular cold/flu numbers over to COVID19, which makes sense as COVID19 is the flu of the year, so big deal. We have dangerous flues and colds every year. I've had flues/colds that I truly thought I wouldn't live through. I've had family members hospitalized for flus/colds, so doesn't mean everyone should wear a mask and shut the economy down, what a crock. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22373790 Just the fun thing to do? Because if they test positive, then they are infected and actively shedding the virus to others. Yeah, right, even the CDC said that's SUPER rare. Did you get that talking parrot point from CNN sunshine? |

You DO need to have symptoms to get tested in some places, in most places in fact, except for the state, they just want you to come of course. Here's the deal, you have media pumping up the whole thing so employers are MAKING You get tested as soon as someone gets it in the company, OR people are just randomly testing to find out due to paranoia OR due to just wanting to get two paid weeks off, that's an incentive right there. So, even if some places say, oh, yeah, you have to have symptoms to get tested, people are fudging symptoms just so they can get the test, just so they're "cleared" of the COVID19, which has now become like having AIDs almost where people ostracize you, so you get a test, get cleared, and then can go back to normal life. So, effectively, the media has made it so people have to get tested whether it's just to go back to work or see friends, or whatever. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55167555 Yeah, it's totally retarded, we have asymptomatic cases here at work, just because they wanted to get tested because they had a friend or whatever who had it. So, then forces all the rest of us to get tested, lucky mine was negative, but I find it unconstitutional for an employer to even force you to do that. And now the asymptomatic COVID19 cases can sit at home and get two weeks full pay, and then six more weeks of a partial pay like 60% or something. So, if your friend tested positive for COVID19 why were you hanging out with him anyways? The whole thing is just off the wall ridiculous. Yet, I still know people going literal ape sh8t because they think they may have been exposed by someone who's friends, girlfriend's brother had asymptomatic COVID19, like pure craziness. This whole COVID19 thing has really shown me who's really critical thinker or not. |
