When we are moving closer to Christ, is it normal for the people around us to start behaving strangely?

I notice that whenever I start to really feel a total 100% focus on Christ and I feel the Holy Spirit opening up my eyes to things above and not the things of this Earth, everyone around me starts acting strange and doing things that almost seem meant to distract me or keep me focused on stupid stuff. It can be family, friends, co-workers, strangers, etc. Whenever I feel like I am in that total state of feeling the peace of the Holy Spirit and my mind is getting free from the stupid cares of this world, it seems that this reality goes into some weird mode that tries to discourage lucidity at all costs. Is this just familiar spirits trying to stop my spiritual growth? It sort of reminds me of becoming lucid in a dream and the dream characters and events try to make you forget all about lucidity and fall back "asleep". Can I get some prayers for continued Holy Spirit and renewed focus on Jesus Christ and nothing but His quickly coming kingdom?
