delayed gratification: the marshmallow test

my comment was deleted in the iq thread. but anyways, it all boils down to marshmallows lads. this is really beyond iq, and they can argue the flaws in the testing. but those who can hold out for greater rewards, sacrifice the present for the future. they win the day. the inferior of all kinds can not do this, regardless of race. and i have seen plenty smart people who can not hold attention, learn to switch from easy dopamine hits of simple rewards to the complex feeling of satisfaction in doing truly difficult work, creating something, solving a problem etc.

to train in this, if you have some habit or luxury you over indulge in but its not destructive in moderate amounts. delay it until you do a 100 pushups, finish a project, do a chore. this builds an integrity within. if you cant trust yourself, you cannot be trusted.
