Thank goodness it is not big enough to do the damage claimed. If it hit in the Pacific, chances are it will hit very deep water and the displacement of that water will consume a great amount of the energy of impact. Tsunamis will kill millions, maybe billions, if it hits in the Pacific but it is not going to cause global earthquakes and spontaneous volcanic eruptions. Could be some, many will die, but it is not even close to being an extinction level event. It is nature - nothing more, nothing less.

He predicted the resignation of Pope Benedict, among other things.

Interesting but convenient for him. Apophis is a well known asteroid. He didn't have to do much research.

I have no idea why people keep saying the dates check out. Of course they check out. All he did was check space.com. It clearly says the date when Apophis will do it's flyby.

IMHO he loses all credibility because of the book.
When an actual warning comes, God will make sure it doesn't come with a price tag.
