Here is what you need to do to understand. OBEY! The problem is how do we get these stores open? They are afraid of being fined or being burnt down. That is the current state of affairs. I am seeing signs they are about to start pushing the removal of weapons again. I am very very upset. America is completely pussified. I was at the summer pool the other day, and watching the staff wipe down the handrails going down the stairs into the pool...... wait, what? doesn't chlorine kill those germs? I understand waterborne stomach viruses aren't killed, nor feces germs..... but this coronavirus would certainly be. Just so stupid. Quoting: Satya Revelations Also, was listening to someone talking about the lines to get on a plane, masks mandated, social distancing mandated, but then get on the plane and sit 6 inches from the next person over..... Masks off while you snack and drink. Makes NO sense. And people using the bathroom on that plane. All this is not about a virus. |

Here in NC those under 11 don’t have to wear them. A kid I know is going to a summer school computer class. They can wear them or not. He is over 11. He won’t wear one. So far no one is sick. No matter what people will get sick especially come flu season. It is just how it is. But people will freak out that they have Covid and flood hospitals. |

People are saying that kids aren't very susceptible, but they aren't thinking about the teachers. There aren't enough subs to take over when all the teachers become sick. And, as you say, if one person (kid or teacher) gets it everyone has to shelter for days/weeks. If they open up schools for everyone. Not just a few kids for some summer school classes. And they start testing for covid and have positives then whole towns can get shut down. |

Quoting: VinoSom I lived in Flori-da for 14 years, I am used to dumb shit, but this makes absolute no fffing sense. Sure it does. Schools are well-organized and administered. Gyms and bars are full of selfish idiots who don't give a f@#%. Schools, no matter how well-administered, are full of children, and many schools are full of almost feral children. You can have the best principal in the world running a school and there's no way he's going to be able to stop the kids from spreading germs. I can't even take my kids to church because they claim they can't handle wearing a mask for an hour, and they are extremely well-behaved children. There is no way any school is going to be able to properly enforce the CDC recommendations. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. |

They are going to bring it home to their parents and grandparents, who will then take it to work and church. It's not going to be pretty. Quoting: GA Girl So masks, hand washing, social distancing -- doesn't work. Not in a school setting. Kids are gross little creatures. They will be sucking on their masks, blowing through their masks, twirling their masks, taking their masks off to eat in class, sharing their food, trading masks, pulling them down to talk or work... And I'm just talking high school! LOL! Not to mention the fact that there is no way to social distance a 20 x 20 classroom with 25-30 kids and 1-2 teachers. They switch off classes every 1 1/2 hours (block schedule). Then they crowd into the halls by the hundreds. Then a new class of 25-30 kids fills the same seats as the ones who just left. Then another group and another group. So in essence thousands of kids have close contact either with each other or with items others used each day. Lunch? OK, so no lunchroom - just eat in the class. 30 kids in that 20 x 20 room laughing and breathing on each other, dripping on the desks which might or might not get cleaned effectively (still no Clorox wipes). That presents an entirely new logistical problem. The proposals that I have seen are schools around here are going to try to enforce social distancing by requiring six feet between desks. You can't even fit 20 kids in a standard classroom with those rules. You'd be lucky to get eight in that room. Where are the rest of the kids going to go? Our schools were not designed for this and simply don't have the room. I've even read of proposals to have a local middle school and high school taken over by the elementary school and have all the grades 6-12 students do online classes all year which, sadly, makes sense because, for the 6-12 grade levels, the rules are, as they are with K-5 students, that students are to report to their classrooms and stay in the same room all day. It's really easy to make such an order today, over a month from when they are supposed to open, but when it comes time for nut cuttin', things very well may change, and that right quickly. I've already seen proposals for Alabama schools to open two weeks later than they were originally scheduled, and that opening can be canceled right up to the moment the schools were supposed to open. I think our elected officials haven't a clue how to handle it, and are praying for some sort of antidote/vaccine to pull them out of this mess. |
