In her defense, parts of Africa couldn't count to 4 before Western imperialism forced math on them. There's literally tribal African languages that do not contain the concept.

That doesn't mean they didn't count in their heads. It just means they had nothing verbal for that concept. I think most African tribal people would notice if they only had two kids at home and the next day found two more kids in their hut making it four kids!
