Quoting: Sleepy Lemon Monkey I've been thinking about it because I feel like I'm a very happy, easygoing person. To me I think it comes down to appreciating the basic things. Not taking things for granted. I don't have much, but I have WAY more than enough. When I think of the simple things - like just being able to take a shower, I feel blessed. There are lots of people in this world that can't even take a shower when they want to. Little things. Basic things. Things that are a blessing to have. Appreciate those and don't take them for granted. Having patience and empathy play into happiness as well, I feel. Have a heart and try to give people a break when they do things that get you upset. I catch myself cussing to myself at jackasses that drive SUPER slow in in front of me in a parking lot - like they don't even know where they're going. I get mad. I always know where I'm going and just want to park. When I finally get by them, I want to look at them just so see what they look like. lol. Well, I catch myself. A lot of times it's just an older person. They might be super stressed even just being out driving. People in general are good at heart. They're not purposely trying to ruin my day. At least that's how I've always felt. My dad told me I'm "fucked in the head" because I won't get mad at people. I like being fucked in the head. lol But that kind of went off course. Happiness is up to you. You have to love yourself and you have to appreciate what you've got. It could always be worse! yep... happiness is as simple as deciding to be happy and focusing on the good things in life rather then the bad. You can either control your thoughts and emotions or bee a victim and let someone or something else do it for you. |
