Anonymous Coward User ID: 45878674 United States 07/08/2020 12:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Don't listen to people suggesting counting calories and exercising! WRONG! The effective, long-term, painless way is INTERMITTENT FASTING. There are many styles but I preferred one meal a day. I eat just one meal a day, dinner, with no cheating inbetween (just black coffee and unsweetened tea). It took me four or five months to lose it, but that's the right, healthy way, and I suffered ZERO feelings of deprivation. Reason? I ate ANYTHING I wanted during that one meal, and as much as I wanted. I lost 45 pounds during this period. My boyfriend is slim, but has suffered from type 2 diabetes for 20 years and is on insulin. He used to be fat and his pancreas, etc. never recovered after he lost weight. I said, why not try what I did. Why not. So he started intermittent fasting, one meal a day. Within a few weeks he had literally stopped using insulin because his blood sugar had gone down so much. In his case he also went low carb, so wasn't eating anything he wanted like I was, but it made a huge difference. He's not 100-percent compliant anymore because of pandemic stress, but it was so awesome when he went from shooting up with insulin every day to just popping the metformin. It was a huge step for him! In the future, as soon as the stress settles down, we hope to get back to it with 100-percent compliance to low carb and get him off the pill as well. So...when the medical "professionals" tell you diabetes isn't reversible, they are LYING to keep the money coming. It IS reversible, it just demands that you QUIT EATING THE DANG SUGAR and close your eating window down until your metabolism adjusts and your organs heal nd work properly again. The BEST resource on this to google is Dr. Jason Fung. He is saving lives! Start first with his video about the two-compartment problem, or something like that. It gives the basic science. You can do it! It's not bad. I PROMISE. Every day I would have pizza or something good as a treat, and just as I was starting to get hungry around 3 pm I'd say, you're almost there, pizza awaits! and take a big drink of water and get over the hump. After a few weeks it is a lifestyle and you don't even think about food until that meal comes. I'm not kidding. Trust me. I have done every diet known to man, and they were either short-lived, ineffective, involved a major plateau, or involved massive suffering. Fasting avoids all of this. You can do it! |

If you calculate your BMR with formula above,(BMR= Basal Metabolic Rate is the number of calories required to keep your body functioning at rest.) like my BMR is 2100 calories, if i skim another 1300 calories, fasting, should lose 1 lb. |

User ID: 78401642 United States 07/09/2020 02:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I like Cole, watched his videos for a long time and did a lot of his recommended fasting. The problem for me - and most people with lifelong weight issues - is not slipping back into old ways after losing the weight from his fasting. I'd end up yo yoing with Cole's extreme fasting. And I believe 100% this lead to me having to have my gallbladder removed. I later read rapid weight loss (like from fasting) can cause gallstones. And since having my gallbladder out, it's tough to digest a lot of things. I don't blame Cole at all, it's my issues and my then inability to not be a food addict. But no matter how much I told myself after the fast that I'd eat perfectly, after a while, I always slipped. I am sharing this because I think there are many out there like me, with food addictions who don't understand there are risks to extreme fasting IF you are not capable of truly kicking your food issues afterward. I don't think the fast itself is bad, it can be very very healing, but you MUST eat correctly and healthy afterward (forever, not just a week or month) otherwise you can fuck up your body and digestion. |

Not only do you cut calories, but sugar increases your appetite,so you won't be nearly as hungry. Anonymous Coward User ID: 78861656 Latvia 07/09/2020 02:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was 342lbs... I now weigh 184lbs. How did I do it? I simply learned how my body worked carbs protein and fats. Those are all fuel for your body but how they work hasn’t really been taught to us. We learned the food pyramid instead which is just wrong. Sugar is an addictive drug! To lose FAT consistently over time, your body must be in ketosis. Aka keto. My first 4-5 months I did what I called a “net zero” version of keto. You get to deduct fiber from your carb count but for those first 4-5 months I lost 20lbs each month. Didn’t count macros or any of that just carbs, also called dirty keto. Once I was at a healthier weight I decided to up my carbs to 20-30/daily and mixed in intermittent fasting. And still continue to lose weight to this day. I even mix in carb/cheat days every couple weeks now where I just pig out on biscuits and gravy, donuts, pancakes, chicken and dumplings mmmm lol It is a lifestyle change but one you won’t regret. Treat those carb sugary foods as occasional treats instead of food. So if you have the desire to lose weight and commitment to follow through it’s actually a lot easier than it sounds. You just have to eat the correct foods to stay in ketosis and the weight just falls off. Read and research ketosis pick a version that works for you and just do it. You deserve to be fit and happy you fatty do it!! |

Yea I’m kind of over fasting routines. Not saying I’ll never do them again; it’s just that you have to, as you said, do them right, otherwise it can even be counterproductive. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 76984449 United States 07/11/2020 10:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Count calories! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79123996 No more than 1400 calories a day. Most of it should be protein. Lower your carb intake. Think before you place anything in your mouth if this is something you want or need. Lots of water (Includes fruity water). Shop smart! Read the calorie content before you buy (most items in any typical grocery store is high in calories - avoid those. This includes salad dressing to donuts). Stop buying junk food, such as soda or pub mix. Give yourself one day a week to splurge just a little (Example: one beer on a Saturday night with your buds). This will not only help you lose weight, it will teach you to eat right. Make sure you eat three times a day. Do Not Skip a meal!!! Breakfast = + or - 400 calories (calorie counting includes counting your coffee creamer. No pork! Sub turkey instead). Lunch = + or - 400 calories (can include Black Forest Ham on thin bread. Very little mayo.) Dinner = + or - 600 calories (This includes dessert). Don't expect to lose you weight quickly. Losing it slow is better for you. Jan of 2019, I was 220 lbs (Height = 6'-0"). Feb of 2019 I started with what you read above. Today I weighed in at and have stayed at 180 lbs for the last year. Of course I maintain my weight by increasing my calorie intake to 1700 to 1800 a day. Depends on what works for you. Good luck! I just can’t do that and lose weight. I’ve begun to intermittent fast. I drink water throughout the day and eat between five and ten at night. I can’t go to bed hungry. I’m feeling better and looking better. I’m always looking forward to dinner now. |
