No usually surgeons only do a few operations a week and not for hours on end. They are expecting you to wear a mask at all times day after day year after year and the cumulative effect will cause the brain to deteriorate. Also they are in an oxygen rich atmosphere where the ventilation units turn over the air in a much higher rate than any business or office building including the fact that it’s cold and the surgeons aren’t usually doing strenuous activity. so that one time i needed to wear one (wanting to see the sh!t show called public transport) i wore a mask that i had gotten with a hoodie before. made from cloth. think pretty much make you breath out and in to your own face. didnt last more than 2 minutes tbh (then just pulled it down as there were 4 people in the combined section of the train. lol)
