That was a well-written show and was sometimes even quite beautiful in its simplicity and understanding of childhood during times before things got totally nasty and the family fell apart completely. It makes me sick that something sweet is being used for politics. Disgusting.

This idea has already been done with Bernie Mac, Chris Rock etc.

So it's NOTHING like the original series. Hollywood is dead, they're hoping a well-known name will bring ratings. I personally don't care if they "reimagine" things (as long as they don't fundamentally change characters-like making them woke) but ffs these shows are COMPLETELY different. Couldn't they at least call it something similar, but different???

Everything is going to be black. Commercials have been half black for years despite them being a tiny fucking proportion of our population. Now 50% of all NBC needs to be diverse. Wtf. There’s 64% white people so now it’s going to be racist against whites. So get used to it. Who the fuck is demanding them? Everyone I know hates reboots and remakes.

And based on the description. A black family in the 60's...

This show will absolutely be demonizing white people from the first episode to the last.

I have noticed that most sitcom's with black characters inevitably work racism (white on black) into the show. And they usually create a white chick/black guy couple.

The opposite is rare as fuck...including most commercials featuring white woman / black man couples with dirty children. Intended to anger white males I imagine.

I dont blame them for this...but the funniest thing ever, are all black shows like blackish or the cosby show...which features a complete loving wealthy family where the parents are both present and professionally successful. And at least one of the kids in some sort of genius...almost like real life

Way too funny. Assuming two kids, there will be three dads. The cat that’s currently banging the main female character of the show will be a main character, and the two baby daddy’s will play recurring but bit parts as black men unfairly incarcerated by whites.
