Back in the 1970s and 80s this area was renown for quality marijuana. The governor is old enough to remember that. Huge leaves. That helicopter must have spent 5 minutes at 50 feet altitude going round and round the garden. But that was in August when pot plants are big, not early July like today. Very strange. |

I live so far from anyone else that I can go nudist whenever I want. I put on some clothes just in case the rest of the pot crew would raid my place. I learned from a neighborhood meeting last year that if the chopper sees anything they radio a convoy of black SUVs that will descend within ten minutes, they follow the chopper as it moves across the county. That would be particularly difficult around here because most of the roads are gravel, even the paved roads are barely a lane and a half wide. |

This helicopter is manned by civilians who fly low and slow with the doors open looking for tell tale signs of marijuana cultivation. It's very loud, because it flies at less than a hundred feet. In retrospect I should have put on some clothes and drove around looking for the black SUVs, there's not that many roads around here. But I did get some good pictures of the helicopter this time. |
