* Iran has confirmed that two Tor-M1 surface-to-air missiles were fired at the Ukrainian airliner that crashed near Tehran earlier this month.

The Civil Aviation Organisation of Iran (CAOI) said the Russian-made missiles were launched from the north.

But it added that "the impact of these missiles" was still being assessed.

Iran's armed forces have said they fired at Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752 by mistake on 8 January, killing all 176 people on board.

* A total of 283 passengers, including 80 children, and 15 crew members were on board. The plane crashed after being hit by a Russian-made Buk missile over eastern Ukraine,

Yeah it looks like this and incidents over the last yr or 2 have shown that the russian built air defences are not up to the job tbf. It is clear Iran have been under attack for a week or 2 from outside and probably within also.

Another poster mentioned that Israel cannot do it alone.... i am not so sure about that. They are entirely capable but are holding back as they do not want the worlds back lash which would be inevitable imo. Same with the Hezbollah stuff, they could crush them if they wanted but it would be messy as they are not in set locations and operate in civ areas etc.

I believe they will not openly go to war alone as their is a lot of reassurance and a shared burden with a major player like the USA with them and so it will be deniable potshots or selective targets atm so as not to draw the mire of the worlds libtards and muzz lovers.

I've been watching this round of attacks over the past few weeks and piecing together from geographic clues etc what they're hitting.

What it genuinely looks like is Israel launching spoiling attacks on the Iranian nukes, missile infrastructure, nuke facilities, and likely command and control nodes.

Chances are that Israel has intelligence information that says Iran is very close to having working nuclear payload icbm's and possibly planning to attack.

The reason the power goes out so much in these strikes is because the steps for refining weapons grade material is extremely power hungry.

It's definitely not a great situation though.

Israel got fucking smashed by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon in 2006 going it alone, it will get hammered again when Iran uses all its proxies in Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza.. I have no doubt America will help them out, this operation wouldn't have gone ahead without US approval.. no way Israel would act unilaterally against Iran...

I agree. It is not difficult for Israel to have operatives in a country where the leadership has different ideas to most of the population, plus opportunities to aquire wealth are probably rare for most and so people are easy to turn and so the Intel will flow.
Iran could probably really hurt Israel in an all out first exchange but ultimately and quickly they would be pretty much destroyed imo.
