Serious Question After Basic Math
Over $6 trillion spent so far. ~135,000 people dead so far. ~$45 million per death.

The "if we do nothing" scenario said ~2.2 million people would die. ~$2.7 million per person dead assuming they stop spending now (they won't).

What is the life of an octogenarian with multiple co-morbidities worth? Serious question.

Re: Serious Question After Basic Math
I know math on these things often comes out to be a situation like "Well if they gave that money to everyone everyone would have a million dollars" and it turns out everyone would have 300 dollars or something.

In this case even if they spread it out to everyone it'd be: $6 trillion into 350 million is ~$17,142.

6 Trillion is only set to last 6 months (from March). They will likely spend at least a few more trillion in another month or two. The way they are going about things this will last years.

They keep people afraid saying there is no immunity, yet then how is the vaccine supposed to work?

They say it's a natural virus, yet for some reason none of the normal virus rules apply? (ie: spreading in summer, mask usage, asymptomatic spread, immunity after infection).

How the hell do we stop people from being so afraid they are in constant panic mode? How do you convince people that despite how they feel a life is not truly priceless? I know that sounds heartless, but it is supposed to be a pandemic. How many millions will starve in other countries because we shut everything down to save mostly 80+ year old people who are near death anyway?

Pretty sure many parents and grandparents would have been fine with a small amount of risk to lead their normal life and have the chance at a ~$3 million dollar payout (each) to their families should the worst happen.

You can't place a price on a human life. There you are spouting numbers trying to wangle a price on a human life. Do you know what that makes you? A monster! You are a monster trying to say one hour extra of life, precious human life, of an octogenarian vegetable in a nursing home wearing Depends (tm) can be bought with money.
I've gotten a lot of red for telling the truth and being right. Just sayin'
