Sorry, I had to prepare lunch for my aforemntioned family, just relogged on.

To make one of the most delicious pastries on planet Earth, buy some frozen puff pastry sheets, cut them into about 4 inch squares and fill each with some Guava paste, which is a solid fruit jam (you can use Goya or any other brand, not trying to plug them over others) and bake them following the instructions on the package. It's usually about 400 degrees f. I also put cheese in some of them. Soft or hard cheeses both work. Cream cheese (not too much) is a favorite.

Take 'em out of the oven & please let them cool down a little or else you may burn your tongue on the guava, which becomes like molten lava.

Good to know OP, I wondered about their products.

I have been getting sick from some canned foods lately, I ate some of my stash when I needed to go to the store. I ate Wolf brand chili with beans and it made me sick. Lots of canned foods are no good anymore so I will look for that Goya brand.

I just looked at their products and saw they have frozen foods like chili rellanos and tamales. I am going to ask our local grocery store if they could carry those items.

I like their juice.

I hadn't seen this post which was replying to someone else's post with the Guava Paste pastry recipe/video! As it turned out, my post posted right after it. I swear I hadn't seen it. I have been eating this same exact pastry since before I could walk as a baby! We make it exactly the same.

We used to visit my beloved, WWII Vet uncle in Miami Beach and would always go to the Versailles bakery, one of many Cuban pastry bakeries throughout Miami. They are famous for their Guava Strudel there! Fantastic with a "cafecito" a little demitasse cup of coffee, strong, no sugar.

I happen to be from Brasil, my family. We all speak Brasilean Portuguese, fluently and can speak and understand Spanish as well. I was born here and am a proud American citizen.
