Walmart shelves empty.

Walmart's in North Dallas, are not empty at all. I went to both Farmer's Branch and Irving locations - loaded up on food/gear.

So that implies we are all biking now? Winter is going to be a bitch.

Remember the toilet paper? Couple months ago you couldn't find a roll anywhere. People were bootlegging the stuff. Now it's back in supply.

Bikes have been out of stock everywhere since March. So has fitness equipment. People bored out of their minds and home buying it all up.

Combined with the stimulus checks, they sold a lot more of that kind of merchandise past Christmas/New Years then they normally would have, probably 10x as much.

China is producing and shipments are arriving, but people are still buying everything up. Although there are definitely still Covid-19 related factory shut downs and supply issues, there is still stuff coming in.

I had my wife bring me one home, ive been using it every night. I'm gaining some weight eating all my preps

I once biked 500 miles in a week in the summer. Have never, ever tried to bike in the winter. You need big fat tires for that and a gear that has you in spin class going 2 MPH.

Also, where I am at people are buying up real estate like crazy right now. I have never seen it this frenetic with 1-40 acre lots being sold within 1-3 days of hitting the market.

People are SCARED in the big cities (or seriously fed up with city-politics and their policies).

Have you seen what Idaho is like right now?

(Incoming buyers (and fleeing sellers) escaping the hell of CA, Oregon, & WA state...)

Now is not a good time to buy ... but it is a GREAT TIME to sell - at least in the rural areas.

Bicycles aint there, everything else is stocked up.

I just thought of something. What if they aren't stocking certain items because they know there will be mass looting soon?
In FLA where I am, mayor says cops will only respond to violent crime. They know people will be stealing and then just outright looting when supplies dwindle and aren't restocked. People will get spooked and just start taking. I see this happening very quickly if they want.



Then we will be forced to seek refuge if food and resources are needed. Which they will by then.

I went shopping at a major department store yesterday, Macy's. First time in a very long time, it was so low on stock and it was old stock, past season, and it was a chaotic mess, third world, piles everywhere, no staff.

The lady said they were no longer carrying a really basic item, and did not know if or when shipments were ever happening again. I went to another store and they were the same, no stock no future.

They had one lady cashier for an entire floor of many different departments. I felt like I was in some ghetto, not looking promising on the retail front, Amazon has taken the lions share and well, I think retail shops are a thing of the past, they have succeeded.

Idiocracy was really trying to warn us, only it's Amazon not Costco, or are they the same?

A lot of it has to do with factories having to be shut down.

There are shortages of a lot of weird things. I can't find kayaks anywhere.

And I spent 3 days shopping for a new fridge. Finally had to order one from Best Buy, with a 3 week delay getting it to my store, then another 2-3 week delay for delivery and installation.

It's crazy.

Yep, people are buying bikes because they either want to exercise and can't/won't go to a gym, or because they want to avoid public transportation.

Once the high end real estate market in NY collapses and their are no jobs.

The tax base will collapse, followed by the failure of the state.

Their only way out would be rasing city taxes from 11% to 22% that will send who ever is left fleeing the state.

In my last delivery, Walmart included a little cloth gift bag (free) with hydration coconut water, candies, SPF lotion, pens, coupons and a thank you note.

In Nevada we have lots of bikes, Walmart is fully stocked. The only thing I couldn't find there was Lysol SPRAY. Wipes were low stock but available.

Fishing gear, no problem.

We have two large outdoor stores and those are stocked with everything you would expect, although 223 and 9mm ammo was only available in bulk. They had lots of bicycles too.

No one around here wants to ride their bikes in 110 degree weather. That's not exactly true, I see a lot of people on trails.

I find nearly everything in stock here and for most of Northern California.

Costco here and CA had everything including masks, toilet paper, beef. Same with grocery stores.

I have no idea why the rest of the country is having such a problem, but we've had very few shortages except when there was a run back in February on canned goods, toilet paper and wipes. Everything was pretty quickly restocked.

Maybe the Californians got tired of all the GLPers hating on it and since they have the ports where all the chingqong stuff comes in, they took it first. Also it helps that most of the state is a big farm that produces all the food.
