One can dream.... Well, plenty of office space available. That'd be the way to go. Empty public schools are an option but you're beholden to the districts in that scenario which is fine if you can work out a deal, just watch out when that lease is up. Look into Mae Carden curriculum, but maybe sans the French and switch it to Spanish. Keep the Latin. Best curriculum and mission statement I ever taught under. |

One can dream.... Public school indoctrination of children should have been defunded decades ago. Teachers receive their education/degrees from one of the most liberal/commie programs (education department) in the entire university system - all backed by the commie NEA. They have become completely and utterly worthless, brainwashing zombies to their "trade". And then there are the ones who "feel" they "need" teachers aides for a class of 30 children! WTAF??? Public school teachers, as a whole, have become jokes, as evidenced by the lowering of IQ's in the USA. Children/teens/young adults have never been dumber than they are now and schools continue to lower their standards just to continue receiving federal $. Your hardworking tax money is being flushed down the toilet with teacher salaries. NO WORK should = NO PAY. |

That is one state where the “schools” can be shut down for good, and the kids will be much better off for it. Within the surreal depths of "reality" lies the truth. |

For the most part, aside from a small handful, teachers are lazy and are in it for a paycheck and a pension. Their unions are a very powerful lobby and they easily bend the areas they work in over a barrel when they don't get their way. Just look at Chicongo. There was a teachers strike and kids were bargaining chips for coin. The few teachers worth their salt fight a losing battle tilting at windmills a la Don Quixote. I say - Fuck these lazy fuckers. You don't work, you don't get paid. Go after their coin. That's the only thing they understand. Sue for breach of contract and fire them all for job abandonment. Then go after their pensions. |

Some of 'em have ambition. Like that one S.F. superintendent who hired a hit man and got caught. Or that one other supe in Marin county who was in his 50's getting busted as a Sugar Daddy to a college girl in Sacramento. He got caught when the jealous boyfriend of hers ratted 'em both out and told the cops what motel they were, who he was and how much coke they had. I worked for a company that provided curriculum to schools. LAUSD Superintendent wanted a kick back of a Lexus if he went with our system. Company balked of course, but holy shit, quite the story. Would of been a huge windfall for the company, so I guess the supe figured why not ask. |

Part of a teacher's job is unlocking the potential of a young mind. A-ha moments don't come from a screen Kids not that long ago had aha moments with no public schools. You know these schools haven’t been around for very long. Only to teach kids basic skills so they could work in factories. Now they are mainly indoctrination centers that stifle creativity. |

The organization called on local authorities to “keep school campuses closed when the semester begins on Aug. 18.” Quoting: Coastie Patriot The union outlined numerous major provisions it says will be necessary to reopen schools again, including sequestering students in small groups throughout the school day, providing students with masks and other forms of protective equipment, and re-designing school layouts in order to facilitate “social distancing.” Yet the union goes even farther than those requests, calling for “local support” in the form of defunded police departments and the shuttering of charter schools. If I were a teacher there I would welcome teaching online and making it difficult for schools to open again. I am sure a lot of teachers feel the same way in a lot of major cities where kids are raised like crap and behave like animals. It is a lot less stress teaching online. No major behavior distraction and outburst. Kids that want to learn feel more free to do so. Crappy distracting kids can choose to log in and play games on the side and leave everyone else along or not show up at all. Parents are more accountable for "inspiring and enchanting" their kids to do well not the teacher. Parents after all have bigger budget to "enchant and entice" their kids then individual teachers do. This lingo I used is crap that is pushed on teachers with little to no budget to encourage them to be the best teachers they can be. Like as if they had all day everyday to put on a Disneyland production. Why on earth anyone would want to be a K-12 teacher is beyond me, especially in a Title 1, economically disadvantage school system. I am glad I am finished with the BS. Give all families of the option of sending kids to school online after age 13 years old. If they are well behaved and want to learn in a classroom then they can come to an actual school campus. Other than that... let the crap kids stay home, and be their parents problem. |

It sounds like teachers are holding the public hostage and trying to extort things from them. Don't give into extortion. Kids are learning the same as they were in school which is very little. Public schools are an overpriced babysitting service. Quoting: 2hot2handle Defund the teachers. 60% of our property taxes here go to the public school SYSTEM. A system that needs to be abolished. Look what they did to our children; turned them into lesbians & homos who hate America. Yep. Computer based programs after the age of 13 are good enough for a lot of students. They can self pace themselves. Teachers can meet online with students and do not have to deal with the stress of classroom management and stupid behavior issues that hold up a class room in general. Cost the teachers a lot less money too out of pocket for classroom materials. Students that want an education usually are the once that will take advantage of learning anyways, without the worry of peers criticizing them or pressuring them to do less then well for students that tend to have difficulties. This is a real problem in modern times. Kids that do too well are disposed and picked on as they raise the bar for kids that just want to do the minimum to get by. What kids will miss is the extracurricular activities. But a lot of private businesses can pick that up. Might even encourage more kids to go to church to join bands, choir, play sports. excetra. Which is good because then parent will get more connected too in the community. Generally children that are not socialized well by age four are just taking up space in the public school system anyways and causing trouble. This is were the real lack of parenting, to school to prison pipeline starts. No one wants to acknowledge that it was the unprepared, usually single parent though that started the ball rolling for their kids to go down the wrong path. School campuses can stay open for special ed and needs students through 12 grade. |

The public school system needs to be defunded and reworked. Students should not be held up or held back from learning to stay on task with their grade level. Kids that need more time to learn should be allowed to have that opportunity just like those that learn quickly should be allowed to move ahead and beyond. Our system is not accommodating to students at various levels nor interest. More can be done online and in person in small group settings that allow the teacher/ instructor/ aid better control over the social environment. We have such good online programs now that a lot of the basics can be learned much better online then a teacher can do teaching in a full crowed and often times stuffy class room. The real reason for schools now anyways is cheap daycare and social/ political indoctrination. |

You don't work, you don't get paid. Go after their coin. That's the only thing they understand. Sue for breach of contract and fire them all for job abandonment. Then go after their pensions. BS... Teachers are not lazy. They are over worked if anything. If they didn't have their summers off and brief break in the middle of the school year they would go completely bonkers and might even become dangerous. Most teachers don't go on teaching past four years. Classroom teaching is actually uncomfortable and inefficient for most students. There is a lot of behaviors to deal with too and not much you can do about it. ALL STUDENTS MUST ATTEND SCHOOL NO MATTER WHAT!. So there is a lot of dissatisfactions from students staff and parents. Why not revamp education. Anyways currently, on average depending on the state, between $14,00 and $30,000 is being spent student enrolled in school. For some specials needs kids that can even be up to $50,000 per student. However, I do not believe our tax money is being spent wisely. We are using an outdated system that holds up many students and keeps them behind with lower performing students to keep education uniformed at a pacific grade level. Which is not fair to a lot of kids. Plus we stuff students early on into cramped classrooms that are stuffy and unaccommodating to good learning habits. A lot of kids don't like school. Seriously, how many of us would want to go back into that environment at the k-12 level? Not me. It traumatizing all the noise, smells, restrictions, over all behaviors. I would prefer the dinning room table or my own space in my own room. Ours schools would be more exciting for students if they could learn individually at their level and then meet up a few times per week for extracurricular and small group project type of activities at a campus or a church. It would be better for everyone. It would save the tax payer money too with better outcomes. Parents and kids could be rewarded for meeting goals and money set aside per kid for collage or a vocational training of their choice later in life. For what we spend for parents to send their kids to public schools, give them more options to do with the money what they think is best for their kid and their family. Even if it means allowing the parents a portion to stay home and monitor their child's progress. This would be a very good thing for a lot of families. In general, and for special needs type students/ full time public school starting from age 2 could be for really impoverished parents and those again with special education children with few option but, to send their kid to a regular school all day. But, really their should be more options for regular school age children and their families, besides just what type of regular/ charter school to send their child too. Here in Las Vegas like 80% of the culinary union (members of which are the majority of restaurant/food service/chefs/cooks/even bartenders(I think) across all the casinos) were against the reopening 5 weeks ago. And it's not just them or the LA Teachers' union, either. It's basically all the unions across every industry who want/wanted their industry and livelihood to be/remain shut down. Unified groups of working class people, who live paycheck to paycheck oftentimes and have families and such...are all against going back to work and want their industries to take what may be a permanent hit. Does that make sense to you guys? 'Cause it doesn't to me. It's fishy as fuck. |
