My idea at the time was to send the green little lads to the slaughter house.

I played shooter games when I was a teen.. Didn't ever consider playing it out in real life. That usually comes down to absent parents or outright bad parents who fuck those shooter kids up..

Not sure what Marine Corps he was in. But it's not the same one I was in. I went thru Parris Island boot camp followed by Infantry School in Camp Geiger 1988. I cannot recall ever saying Kill for yes. In Infantry School we probably yelled kill a lot....lol. But it wasn't a substitute for yes.

As far as desensitizing videos, I don't recall anything like that and never heard of such a thing. You are left to your own devices to "de-sensitize" in some of the lovely environments you can find yourself as a Marine.....lol
