Face coverings in England's shops to be compulsory from 24 July
Wearing a face covering in shops and supermarkets in England is to become mandatory from 24 July.

Those who fail to comply with the new rules will face a fine of up to £100, the government is to announce.

The move will bring England into line with Scotland and other major European nations like Spain, Italy and Germany. Since mid-May, the public have been advised to wear coverings in enclosed public spaces, where they may encounter people they would not usually meet.
It has been compulsory on public transport since 15 June.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock is expected to set out the new guidance on face coverings on Tuesday. They are designed to minimise the spread of coronavirus and also encourage people to return to the shops safely.

They seem to be doing the same thing all over the world like they are getting their marching orders from someone. This is not about public health when you mandate it 4 months after the fact when numbers are going down in most places and it was never much of pandemic to begin with when you have to pad the death numbers in order to have the excuse to keep everyone locked down unnecessarily.

Ramping up in Canada too. July 18 in Quebec. CBC NB ran a pro mask propaganda piece today but the official positioning from the government website is we have to be in "red phase" before masks are mandatory.

It's up to the store. The store can require masks but the default assumption is you don't need a mask unless there's a sign. You need a mask for transit as well.

"Conclusion: Wearing masks will not reduce SARS-CoV-2.
N95 masks protect health care workers, but are not recommended for source control transmission.
Surgical masks are better than cloth but not very efficient at preventing emissions from infected patients.
Cloth masks will be ineffective at preventing SARS-CoV-2 transmission, whether worn as source control or as personal protective equipment (PPE).
Masks may confuse that message and give people a false sense of security."

Some municipalities are mandating that people wear masks in all public enclosed areas such as retail stores, grocery stores, gas stations, convenience stores etc. Toronto was the first to do it and now others have copycatted Toronto no matter if they have any covid-19 deaths or not. It's not about public health when you do it 4 months after the fact and you have no new cases in your area.

It’s been compulsory to wear one on public transport here for a week or so, again a £100 fine if you don’t. It’s not being enforced tho from what I have seen. Now you have to wear one in shops and supermarkets but yet you can go to the pub without one. It’s one huge joke. I wonder which member of our gov has huge shares in PPE companies.

Thanks for the pine BTW whoever did it. hf

Bend the knee slaves and wear your mask. We command it because we like to watch you all suffer during a heat wave not being able to breath in a hot suffocating mask! You won't want to ever go shopping again because you will have to wear a tortuous suffocating mask or you won't be allowed into buy food. It is social conditioning for the forced vaccination mark of the beast.

Its been compulsory on public transport in England since mid June.

Half the people don't wear masks - you can guess who accounts for most of those who don't - and no one is ever fined.

Re: Face coverings in England's shops to be compulsory from 24 July
Some face mask information:

N95 - N (Not Waterproof, doesn't stop oil droplets), 95 (catches 95% of particulates over 0.3 microns in diameter)
P100 - P (water proof, catches oil droplets), 100 (catches 99.9% of particulates over 0.3 microns in diameter)

Corona viruses - Less than 0.15 microns

An N95 mask will be catching only about 90% (misses 1 out of 10) of particles under 0.15 microns in size, and only when the mask is fresh, efficacy reduces over time.

Unless a mask is certified for Work Activities, any face covering is reducing your oxygen intake to dangerous levels in minutes.

N95 type masks are only supposed to be used for short periods, with non-intensive activity, with long periods of fresh air between uses to restore oxygen levels.

*The body can recover from short periods of mask use.
*Extended periods lead to reduced oxygen levels and increased CO2 levels.
*Sustained periods of reduced oxygen leads to impaired cognitive function.
*Continued sustained use, leading to sustained oxygen deprivation, can lead to permanent brain damage.

This can make you feel lethargic and reduce high level brain activity.

If you intend to do any physical activity (or just get hot sitting in the sun), you should wear a mask with sufficiently rated air-flow.

A P100 mask with dual filters for instance, is comfortable to wear, provides cool air, good overall air-flow, is water-proof (moist breath), and is designed to use while doing physical labour.

However, even P100 style masks shouldn't be worn for extended periods. At most they can be used for a normal day's work (8 hours in a 24 hour period) with regular breaks every hour to refresh oxygen levels.

If you need to wear a mask longer, really you should wear a powered and ventilated full face mask that pumps filtered air into a full head covering, including your ear canals, maintaining oxygen levels

Any other mask is essentially useless, and realistically dangerous for your average un-informed person to wear.

People should be very careful wrapping their faces for extended periods in un-verified fabrics as it causes suffocation.

I hope this information helps people make informed decisions about when to wear masks.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock is expected to set out the new guidance on face coverings on Tuesday. They are designed to minimise the spread of coronavirus and also encourage people to return to the shops safely.

Oh great! /sarc

Now the home grocery deliveries prices will skyrocket within days from that taking effect.

People won't want to go themselves to the stores because of being forced to wear a mask but they also won't want to pay for the hefty delivery fees either.

Stock up on as much as you can now people. Things are just getting stranger and darker from this ppint onwards
