Long before anxiety about Muslims, Americans feared the 'yellow peril' of Chinese immigration

The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 banned all Chinese from coming to America, with a handful of exceptions: merchants, teachers, students, travelers and diplomats.

“This is the first time in US history,” says Professor Erika Lee, director of the Immigration History Research Center at the University of Minnesota, “that we single out a group for exclusion based on their race, and also based on class. But it would not be the last.”

Later, the ban was extended to cover all ethnic Chinese, wherever they hailed from. Then later still, pretty much all Asians were banned.

These polls are not good news at all for Trump. The virus is having a very critical effect on the US elections.

It even brought us down to our kneees in Italy, and we just managed to contol it with draconian measures, reminiscent of military and Imperial Roman rule. Which is obviously not feasible to implement in America.

Was thanks to our crazy, politically correct attitude, of molly-coddling the Chinese, and having a lot of Asian immigrants.

This virus was not there during the last elections.

Biden's really good in latching on like a limpet, and being at the right place at the right time.

Obviously the slimiest politician in the whole of US history, worse than Benedict Arnold. He's promisng to "remake America" if he wins, which obviously means letting in hordes of turd-worlders, and amnesty for illegals, which will be the death knell for the USA.

Only way Trump's gonna win this thing, is to deflect the blame for the Chinese virus, back onto China and the turd-worlders. The virus is surely but slowly, grinding him down.

He's doing somethng alright like the visa-bans, and talking a bit tough on China, but still its not enough. It needs much more drastic action, even a cataclysmic event.

Trump is fighting against himself, and still can't get ahead.

So what he's supposed to do? The virus is aiding Biden immensely, and he'll likely win even if he doesnt campaign and remains in his basement. As November approaches, the weather gets colder and it'll become even more virulent and deadly.

But the critical difference is the Chinese virus, was not there at that time. This virus is now affecting each and every household, either directly via infections or indirectly through lockdowns. Hence its going to play a very huge role in the election results.

Exactly! Comparing apples and oranges....2016 and 2020. There's NO way the effects of the Asian origin pandemic can be avoided.

Even safe Red states like Texas are now in play in the polls, which did not occur during the last elections.

Current status is Trump has lost, and Biden is the winner.

The only question is whether Trump can stage a come-back, and overtake Biden in the remaining 4 months. Very doubtful, unless he takes extremely drastic measures.

Hmmmm....this election 2020 is really UNIQUE in US history.

Its most likely Biden will win, through people may even vote Trump, if they're really pissed of at Yellow China and the plague.

Anyway, whichever way the election goes,...its NOT gonna be known as a Red wave or Blue Wave.
