I was born into a prepping family, back in 53. My dad was a lead foreman on building battle ships for the Navy in WA state. He was friends with a lot of the brass. They told him then to build a bomb shelter in his new house he was building at the time. They were very serious, so he did. I use to play in that basement as a small child. I remember the L-shaped stairs and the blast door!!! And, the window wells around the windows for the sand bags.

So ... do I THINK this may happen ... NO, I know it is happening as I write!!

Many of my family are military, LEOs, Medics and such. They all know what is going on, and have tried over the years to let those who are interested know ... Sadly most just do not give a damn.

I told my family ....

We can't operationally afford anyone to be out for a few weeks. All hands on deck.

It may not take till Oct. Tens of millions in the USA will be homeless by then the way this is going. Mad Max time is coming if things don't change for the better.

I am doing a lot of what you're doing. Have an indoor grow system for greens. Got a solar array and back up batteries. We have wood stoves for heating too and surrounded by woods, so big wood piles.

One thing I am doing today: call to get septic pumped!

just a few bikes left in Walmart. is there a mad rush on bikes? nope. so what gives? they don't want to be stuck with a huge inventory when they have to close.

We're just happily trodding along here...Some economic doom, as bars and restaurants see bankruptcy and layoffs, but the rest is just going on as usual. Sure there will be a lot of cost-cutting resulting in less spending but I'm in healthcare so I'm good.

I’m in agreement with OP. I think they will grind us down for a few years before things go mad max. If they drop the hammer now, it will diminish their joy, in that I they could torture us for much longer. they could slowly drive us all bonkers, then pull the plug..

I've been ribbed by friends and family about my lifestyle my whole adult life, and now I'm teaching them all how to do grow sprouts and microgreens lol.

My sister (nearby) is more of an extreme couponer type mom with a bigger family, and she has enough cleaning and hygiene products for an army, so I think we'll make it through the madness together.

Never seen so many items OUT OF STOCK or a limit of 1, 2 or 3 on soup, meats, dairy ect.
Nothing for freeze dried everything is out of stock!

When asked at dinner about what is going on at the stores and in their world just shrug their shoulders and get a blank look, when asked what should we do they got nothing.

The older females 50 wife and 70 mother in law, the wife who does most shopping will not prep she thinks 2 or 3 cans instead of 1 is enough but we use 1 a week. If I bring up prepping they tune me out and or leave the room.

The younger son and daughters 30ish are scared and expanding their garden and small animals!

I am a long time prepper mostly on a budget over the decades! Some times panic shop such as last december, january I added a several months of what we eat into the pantry. With the wife permission and help also
Added about a years worth of basic long term food 650,000 calories for the in-laws, 600 pounds for about $600. Also did a little more for my daughter and her fiancee who got layed off the next week, His employer is out of business and now no job to go back to and they just bought a house in like Oct!

I just got the same bad gut feeling again I got at the end of February that something really society changing is coming again.

Wife and I restarted prepping 3 weeks ago. We have all preps from Phase 1 of Lockstep, now they have started Phase 2 which obviously has been released in Florida and Texas and soon the rest of you.

Prepare for power outages this time and a very long, more severe lockdown.

Prepping now is more important than Phase 1 was.
