Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 76228932 United States 07/15/2020 07:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I doubt this as work was slow for father today, and was basically doing nothing until business picked up. She was watching television. I hadn't had but an hour or hour and a half of game time in when this happened. Mind you it happened simultaneously to all of us. Having experienced ocular fatigue before from working in insurance as a CSR I / Office Assistant I understand how the eyes tire from screens. Any other theories / explanations / input? Thank you for your response.... please keep them coming even if you are not in the north GA area and this happened to you please post your account. this is highly irregular and has never happened in synchronicity. |

Quoting: nutmeg FEEL SLEEPY? HERE'S WHY STORMY WEATHER MAKES YOU WANT TO SNOOZE [link to www.sun-sentinel.com (secure)] There was a brief spell of rain that lasted for apprx. 15 mins or so and the intense and I mean intense like as in heroin addict nodding off intense type of having trouble of keeping eyes open severe. Ya the rain makes me tired, but not THAT kind of tired. Very VERY odd indeed. Will read that article to understand that common phenomena in more depth. I simply put have never had my eyes have to be forced to stay open for about 10-20 mins and then completely go away. Thank you Very Very Much!! Keep em coming GLP! |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 76228932 United States 07/15/2020 07:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That is really odd. Quoting: Peepaws My guess is some kind of radiation beamed towards that area but who knows. It would be interesting to know if this happened to more people living close to you. My thhoughts and everyone that had the same exact thing happening to them simultaneously.... VERY odd indeed. Radiation you say? Very possible, as it can have that effect. Lets keep it coming folks, we need to know if anyone in the south east had anything similar occur. TYVM! |

My first experience working as a young nurse in the recovery room of a hospital taught me about rain and drowsiness. The head nurse working there was older and experienced. Her goal for us was to try to get surgery patients in and out of the recovery room to their hospital room as quickly as possible ....as soon as they were awake and their vital signs were stable. One day it was raining. She told us that, because it was a rainy day, our patients were not going to awaken from their anesthesia as quickly as usual. Barometric pressure was low. Hmmmm.....I learned something that day, and sure enough, I get very sleepy on a rainy day no matter how much sleep I get the night before. If it wasn't for her, I would still be wondering why, on certain days, I can't keep my eyes open. lol Last Edited by nutmeg on 07/15/2020 07:49 PM |

Dr Whee User ID: 29265809 United Kingdom 07/15/2020 07:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi I am in the north Georgia area about 30 minutes north of Atlanta off of Interstate 575. Quoting: Anyone else have this happen 76228932 I was 100% aware and was playing a video game and was wide awake due to a wonderful nights worth of sleep last night. All of a sudden I had a wave of profound sleepyness envelop me to the extent that I could barely keep my eyes open. I am not on any drugs nor do I have medical conditions such as narcolepsy or diabetes. HERE IS WHERE IT GETS WIERD GUYS! The spell of sleepiness akin to fading out on a strong opiod wore off just as quick as it came on. I went into a family member's room to check on her as she had just been released from hospital. While making conversation I explained how odd that was, and how nothing like that ever happens to me. She said that the EXACT same thing just happened to her, and that it suddenly went away too! Shortly after my father called me, and told me of the same exact occurrence without me even having a chance to explain the happenings at our home. To clarify again this was not just feeling slightly sleepy... but so sleepy that the eyes were hardly able to keep open, and this all happened at the same time. He was a mile and a half away. Government putting something other than fluoride in the water? Aliens directing sleep rays at city? Some blackbook DARPA research project in which we were the research subjects? ANYONE IN THE NORTH GEORGIA EXPERIENCE THIS OR SOMETHING SIMILAR TODAY AROUND 1-3 P.M. ? Please share if you or someone you know experienced this very VERY odd 'coincidence' Any and all input or theories as well as similar experiences are extremely appreciated as I would like to understand what exactly this happening was! As it certainly was not ordinary, and happened non-localized. Wonder what the Schumann Resonance was for that timeframe? Electrical interference:a brief foretaste of the zombie apocalypse when our minds will be wiped like magnetic tape? |

My boyfriend and i have been dragging for several days. He came home from work early the last 2 days and slept, he doesn't miss work for anything and i have been napping the last several days and I'm not a napper. I had the same thing happen today, took a break from housework around noon and couldn't keep my eyes open. Woke up at 1:30. We are saying it's the heat. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 76228932 United States 07/15/2020 07:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | To the posters from GA, were you wide awake and then suddenly and abnormally tired?! Like trouble keeping your eyes open tired? As for the rain, yes I have experienced that before and it is a well documented and studied phsyio response to baro pressure. I understand that. Never in my LIFE have I felt an intense and sudden onset or fighting to keep my eyes open only to have my full energy return just as soon as it began. Not to mention it happened to family and one member two miles away. The same ACUTE onset, not the slow drowsiness that accompanies baro pressure related drowsiness which, like I said have experienced many times. Keep em comin GLP'rs! I appreciate all input, experiences, theories -- you name it. TYVM to all who is keeping this going. Something strange was afoot, that is for sure. |

What line of work are you in? Do you utilize hypnosis inductions from time to time? |

Monday & Tuesday, sudden sleepiness like a wave came over me, could not keep my eyes open, felt almost compelled to lay down and catch a nap, and about 20 minutes later woke up alert. Not a napper.
