They are all outdoor cats- yes, they come inside and hang out, but prefer to be outdoors. NO litter box. Wouldn't have them contained inside for anything. ALL my cats that came from irresponsible owners who left them when they moved away or never spayed/neutered them as is necessary to keep cat populations under control. I am a normal functioning member of society and and in no way am I a 'CRAZY' cat lady. I love animals, have had 4 dogs over the past 22 years also. LOVE and CARE about ALL animals. When it is empty, they likely won't follow you home. |

I set up cams on a bird nest... placed a bucket out of cats reach (my own cat).... Squirrels climbed the wire and ate the chicks... I get the attitude that 'cats eat everything wild' thought... but the foxes and squirrels do the same. I am not ashamed of what my cat does... Yes, cats do eat some natural yard dwellers... but, it is competition. My cat is fed well. The song birds are pretty smart and there are enough of them to go around.... You may be right.. but I doubt the song birds will go extinct... |

They got some birds when they were younger, but not anymore, I have bird baths and many birds that come splash around. The cats just lie there and watch. Have wrestled squirrels away from a couple of cats before and set them free. Fortunately, my female cats catch rats and there are plenty around this waterfront area. No rat problem here. But I do understand your concern. It’s a cats nature to pursue prey. They pretty much lose interest when they get a little older. They like cat food. My cats ages range from 8-21 years. They are pretty much past the hunting things they can’t get easily. I don’t like it, and they know it. Hate it when they kill my little green lizards though. |
