Shrooms are filthy. Bad trip just waiting to happen. They fuck with your stomach, your breathing, and give you lockjaw. What fun!

Get a better drug, loser
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75442400

Sounds like you might have found yourself some non-psilicybin or some other noxious mushrooms.
 Quoting: davidnv

Nope, they were the real deal. What a shitty drug. Even Berlin doesn't make you feel like shit like shrooms do. They don't even make you trip, just your vision gets bad. This is your favorite drug? You must be suicidal
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75442400

I've never had shrooms like your describing.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77812575

It's not just the shrooms imo. The user, of course, has a huge influence on the trip. It would not be far fetched to suggest that an individual complaining of an imminent bad trip may not be of sound mind.

Re: The safe use of psilocybin mushrooms at the end of life should an inalienable right of passage

 Quoting: davidnv

I agree, this is something that could and should be used to have a deeper understanding of oneself. When young I used it recreationally, and later in life after walking a more spiritual path I tried them again, with a different intent, it was a very powerful experience that helped me see life/reality from a very different perspective. And for most of us, it’s hard to imagine without experience. That’s what psilocybin can help do with the right mindset and intent. Also, very practiced mediation could do the same, but most of us don’t have those abilities.

Before ever trying, I would recommend being in touch with oneself. Understanding how your body reacts to different substances. Perhaps, it’s just not for you. Carefully read and make and informed decision.

That said, if you feel at the core of reality lies spiritual principals, I would recommend psilocybin use with the mindset of personal growth and insight. Try with intent. It will be a very powerful experience.

Good luck.

Not sure I would ever do that again.

I was 18 and tried it 3x and never enjoyed it, just lost my fucking mind for 6 hours.

Glad I did it though.

That's the interesting thing about psilocybin: people who have challenging experiences during the psilocybin 'journey' later report that the experience ultimately benefited them.

Correct. Psilo was often mescaline or watered down acid back in the day. The actual shrooms were hard to find. Synthetic psilo usually tracked to University chem departments and students applying their knowledge. Making acid was cheaper. Never a supply problem in the old days, but dangerous drug (LSD) Just have a drink

it is almost like it opens internal doorways.

doorways that most would rather remain closed. doorways of things unaddressed in life that are important.

people that have repressed memories or repressed trauma from their past are not very fun to trip with. having to babysit someone that is forced to confront themselves sucks balls

If you got lockjaw, then whatever you had was not psilocybin.

If you go online and read about the experiences people have had on psilocybin you'll see that the overwhelming majority are positive.

It should be inalienable at any point in your adult life.

Waiting until you’re about to die to try it is a bit of a waste...

It's not for everyone. You could have a batch and feed 10 people. 1 or 2 of those people could lose their mind and start stripping and shitting on themselves while wanting to fight people trying to help them chill out.

I personally loved them, truly third-eye opening stuff.

It's just a suggestion. No worries.

If you read about people who have taken psilocybin mushrooms as part of their leaving the body process, you would find that the great majority of people had life changing (in a good way) experiences. Something to possibly keep an open mind about, you know...

Don't eat the stems that's where the majority of the strychnine is. Just eat the caps, preferably before they open. Clean sailing after that.

some of the most enjoyable and non predictable situations are from really good shroom trips.

my last one seemed to go on for about 72 hours and took about a week to release me into a new reality. It was like everything was new again and new points of view were peaking out from around the corner.

truly marvelous.
