The interface between nanosystems and biosystems is emerging as one of the broadest and most dynamic areas of science and technology, bringing together biology, chemistry, physics and many areas of engineering, biotechnology and medicine. The combination of these diverse areas of research promises to yield revolutionary advances in healthcare, medicine and the life science through, for example, the creation of new and powerful tools that enable direct, sensitive and rapid analysis of biological species and cellular activities. Research at the interface between nanomaterials and biology could yield breakthroughs in fundamental science and lead to revolutionary technologies. In this chapter, we will introduce studies focused on building the interface of NWs to cells and tissues, including extracellular and intracellular signal recording, synthetic cyborg tissues and in vivo recording.

Lieber’s name has been “disappearing” from patents and research papers all over the internet. There was a concerted misinformation campaign at the time of his arrest. Everything you would hear indicated at the time of his arrest indicated Lieber was a chemist who worked on battery technologies. Everything one attempted to post about Lieber was instantly deleted. Instantly. From Facebook to twitter to Bitchute to YouTube. Very much like the name of the Trump whistleblower just prior to the Lieber arrest. Why?

“ In fact, one U.S. nanoscientist and former student of Lieber’s says: “I have never seen Charlie working on batteries or nanowire batteries.” (The scientist asked that their name not be used because of the sensitivity surrounding Lieber’s case.)

Lieber joined Harvard in 1991. Early on he pioneered a variety of techniques for growing nanowires from the bottom up in a chemical flask. Researchers have long been able to etch large chunks of semiconductors, metals, and other materials to make wirelike structures. But this top-down approach typically requires the use of expensive clean room facilities, the sorts used by computer chip–makers. Lieber’s strategy opened the door to making pristine nanostructures with simple and inexpensive chemical techniques. He went on to show that he could use these nanowires to serve as transistors, complex logic circuits, data storage devices, and even sensors.

More recently, Lieber’s Harvard lab has shifted gears to integrate nanowires with biology. In 2017, for example, he reported creating soft, flexible 3D nanowire mesh that could be injected into the brains or retina of animals, unfurl and wrap around neurons, and eavesdrop on the electrical communication between cells.

Other research groups have adopted Lieber’s nanowire growth methods to fabricate nanomaterials useful in making batteries. But that’s never been the focus of Lieber’s research. Which begs the question of why his supposed collaboration in Wuhan was focused on a line of research outside of his specialty.

“To that end, Lieber’s lab is designing smaller, more flexible electronic brain implants that move with brain tissue instead of against it. His mesh electronics mimic the size, shape, and feel of real neurons; can record, track and modulate individual neurons and circuits for up to a year or more; and provoke almost no immune response. In addition, Lieber’s electronics have already demonstrated a valuable trick of their own: They encourage neural migration, potentially guiding newborn neurons to damaged areas, like pockets created by stroke.“

· Upconversion nanoparticles absorb two or more low-energy photons and emit a higher energy photon. For instance, multiple near-infrared photons can be converted into a single visible spectrum photon.
· Shuo Chen and colleagues injected upconversion nanoparticles into the brains of mice and used them to convert externally applied near-infrared (NIR) light into visible light within the brain tissue. In this way, optogenetic stimulation was performed without the need for surgical implantation of fiber optics or similarly invasive procedures.
· The authors demonstrated stimulation via upconversion of NIR to blue light (to activate ChR2) and inhibition via upconversion of NIR to green light (to activate a rhodopsin called Arch).

· Michel Maharbiz’s group invented implantable, ~ 1 mm biosensors for wireless neural recording and tested them in rats.
· This neural dust could be miniaturized to less than 0.5 mm or even to microscale dimensions using customized electronic components.
· Neural dust motes consist of two recording electrodes, a transistor, and a piezoelectric crystal.
· The neural dust received external power from ultrasound. Neural signals were recorded by measuring disruptions to the piezoelectric crystal’s reflection of the ultrasound waves. Signal processing mathematics allowed precise detection of activity.

Genome editing in the mammalian brain

· Precise genome editing in the brain has historically been challenging because most neurons are postmitotic (non-dividing) and the postmitotic state prevents homology-directed repair (HDR) from occurring. HDR is a mechanism of DNA repair which allows for targeted insertions of DNA fragments with overhangs homologous to the region of interest (by contrast, non-homologous end-joining is highly unpredictable).
· Nishiyama, Mikuni, and Yasuda developed a technique which allows genome editing in postmitotic mammalian neurons using adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) and CRISPR-Cas9.
· The AAVs delivered ssDNA sequences encoding a single guide RNA (sgRNA) and an insert. Inserts encoding a hemagglutinin tag (HA) and inserts encoding EGFP were both tested. Cas9 was encoded endogenously by transgenic host cells and in transgenic host animals.
· The technique achieved precise genome editing in vitro and in vivo with a low rate of off-target effects. Inserts did not cause deletion of nearby endogenous sequences for 98.1% of infected neurons.

he dual AAV system described here might be directly adapted to other mammalian species, opening the possibility of precise genome engineering in a variety of organisms, including non-human primates, in which genetic tools are limited. Thus, virus-mediated precise genome editing in the brain will provide a versatile tool for both basic and translational neuroscience.

I have been trying to share much of this information since January. Only recently have I been able to. 100% of the forums, every single one, when I attempted to share or post much of this info, they would not allow me to.

Post would be hidden on youtube etc, computers would freeze etc.Weird thing happened. Bitchute, here, facebook, etc wouldn't allow me to post or it would be hidden as confirmed by others. Every time.
