If the phlegm he coughs up is anything but clear he needs antibiotics. Brownish phlegm, bad. Green phlegm, could die soon

Vapor inhalation / saline nebulizer if possible , it will help a lot. My brother also had Rona and his cough was very dry , he could not get any of that stuff out even though he was drinking plenty of water. But as soon as he did a nebulizer just normal saline, it make a really big difference because he immediately started coughing up clam chowder.

LOL....really. The truth is, EVERYONE will test positive! Don't you know that the tests react to antybodies from previous illnesses (even if you broke a bone, and of course mask wearing is obstracting oxygen therefore producing antybodies) making it automatically positive for corona virus? It is really scary how stupid majority of people are , how ill-informed! There is NOTHING wrong with your daughter, that is why she has no syndromes. Trust me, if she really had a virus, you would have known it all right, even without test!

Nope, specific anti-bodies to this virus are tested.

And wait for the 2nd wave of the China virus in the colder weather. Gonna be much worse.

Also no one gets permanent immunity from an infection of this, or its vaccine. Anti-bodies vanish after 3 months.

Some of the drugs and drug types are on my daily list and have been for years, and now they are routed to covid-19 as well, amazingly. Such a confidence-builder to already be taking some of the necessities, just in case.

During a recent visit with my doctor, she mentioned that Budesonide has been found to be far more effective for this disease than any steroid currently recommended. Since I have COPD, she had already prescribed a nebulizer and corresponding medications, including Budesonide.

So good to have a doctor who knows my concerns and how to alleviate them, not to mention that most of my comorbidities are treated by medications which later became recommended for covid-19.

Now as to this being "real" or not, you foolish people who say it is not "real" and insult this dear man for writing about his brother who has it, shame on you. Your fears make you cruel and you are not doing yourself nor anyone else any kindnesses. You make yourselves appear very stupid, which perhaps you are, and without morals, which perhaps you are.

The very least you can do is SHUT UP!! If you don't believe, fine. Go try to stay well. Stay out of threads about someone who is suffering from the disease. You do no good here. Just go do something else with your life and your meanness.

My brother called to check in this morning...He's getting a tiny bit better each day but still has a wicked cough (dry hack).

It was worse than he had led me to believe...he was telling me how bad it was a week ago (he hadn't mentioned it until this morning). Said he hadn't slept in 2 weeks but lastnight he only woke up 3 times and it was a blessing.

He said he was on some type of steroids now & the doc said it was time to start weening him off of it.

His cough is still bad but he said it was MUCH worse even 3 days ago...I can't imagine it being worse...you would have trouble breathing if it was any worse (which was the case at the time).

None really...but he's over 60 and I remember back in early highschool he had open heart surgery and had an artificial valve put in his heart...so he still has that.

That is absolute crap. It's green all the time on a day to day level. You shouldn't be coughing all day. Once or twice a day an adults lungs might expectorate, that is normal. Enough with the medical analysis online, these people have various Flu and Sars. They can't prove it's one particular virus, that's the scam. There MAY be a pathogen out there, but there is no solid proof of what it is or if it's a singular pathogen.
