There are some truth to what your saying but its not completely true. Turks are not definitely eastern romans though there may have been some percentage of mixing. Surely some part of greek speaking anatolians became Turks or mixed with the Turks, there are historical proofs for that. An example would be Ghazi Mihal, formerly a local Byzantine lord turned muslim and Turkish and took part in Otmans conquests. Byzantine peasantry were not very fond of the government so many of them joined the Turks as well.

Despite that, it is undeniable that a MASSIVE migration of Oghuz Turk tribes into Anatolia took place. After Turks settled in Anatolia its recorded that they had a population of 400.000 "tents/yurts". Lets say each tent houses 5 person, then it would make at least 2 million people. After the Mongol invasions started more and more Turks from Central Asia fled into Anatolia even further increasing the numbers. Otherwise we wouldn't be speaking Turkish today.
