Yes there is a money factor. If he has to make money himself than it means he wants to stay alive here, and that means playing by the rules of the world. If humanity wants to keep the light in the world they would have to sponsor him, if not, than he will die and leave this world. And humanity would have to go on without his light and influence.

The beasts are your own shadows .Without you they are nothing. What is there to fear?

I would wager that the eyes can not only see beyond the door but is the one creating the door to begin with in order to understand itself more lol I don’t know much other than belief.
