If the Three Gorges collapses, so does the power plant that generates a significant portion of China's electricity. There would be grid failures everywhere, at which point China would have to switch on the generators at the NPPs. If the dam collapses, the entire country will be shut down and it will be quite difficult to get enough oil/diesel to generators at the NPPs throughout the country to prevent a Fukushima style meltdown. |
