I am a professional meteorologist. The biggest concerns- beach erosion and the extreme heavy rainfall. For example the Reading/Lehigh Valley are received 3-5 inches of intense rainfall yesterday in one of the worst t-storms in years. The topsoil was severely eroded away from just the intensity of yesterdays rainfall and 20 ft deep sinkholes were reported along with flooding of entire arterial roadways with water rescues. The media has been virtually silent. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73547694 I guarantee with 5-7 inches more of rain forecasted, the media will not be silent anymore. The Schuylkill River will experience major flooding thus part of Reading, Pottstown, Philadelphia, Norristown look to be under water as with major flooding in the Lehigh Valley. Watch out Eastern PA- another Irene in the making. Mark this post as you will a bunch of pinned threads by Wed evening on this situation Media is silent for Earth changes all around us in general. Thanks for the post AC. 20-year megadrought where I live and the days are smoking hot this summer. |

The entire state of Florida saw nothing remarkable. And now the storm is taking on more dry air. Carolina will get some rain, but not as bad as has been breathlessly predicted for days - or is it a week now? Meanwhile, my uncle has been demoted to cousin. Told him if he wants to stay he needs to chip in on the rent and stop eating up the emergency popcorn. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 78689367 United States 08/03/2020 01:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's always been up the I-95 to the NYC area. I noticed today it has shifted west from the NYC to Maine section. The center of today's track misses Maine (still in cone though) and misses Bay of Fundy. Previous days it went through the Bay. Vermont and Quebec may have joined the storm-path today. Could change again yet today. Storm is undergoing degradation and intensification cycles. Appears to be intensifying now. |

User ID: 72151262 United States 08/03/2020 01:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Next 6 hours are important-- as its expected to re-intensify before landfall this evening back into a Cat 1. At the same time because of a fast moving overhead 150kt jet and the shear shifting to from the SW, it is not expected to fall apart fast.. rather slow wind-down. It will also be accelerating in forward speed, so some areas will get stronger gusts further inland than if it slowly came onshore. This isnt disaster, but considering with COVID, its not going to take much to create significant headaches. |

There could well be some serious flash-flooding and river flooding as the storm surge will slow the river waters exit into bays and ocean. One of next group of tropical cyclones will likely be a major hurricane and then the Covid really comes into play for a larger population of fence-sitters. September is the peak of the season and can easily stretch into November. |

This will be unfortunate because while most may be sleeping Isaias will be dumping big rain from tropical moisture it's been dragging. Carolinians in the cone need to be vigilant during this time.
