Since Dems run the bureaucracy in DC, Trump did not get this luxury with Covid. If he didn't act, they were prepared to crucify him on it by broadcasting it to the high heavens. So, Trump had no choice but to give this bureaucrat a public voice. It's been a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation from the start because the Dems were going to make it so. Thus, Trump left it in the governors hands, but even they have to proceed with caution because of the negative media attention. Unless they are governor of NY or Oregon or Washington, etc. They are pretty much off limits to criticism by the lefty MSM as we have seen.

I can't stand Fauci but has he ever advocated as being in favor of protests or for that matter, any specific closure or restriction of people rights?

Fauci plays dumb - he is in HRCs pocket.

Fauci doesn't decide if churches are close and protest allowed to happen. He provides recommendations. State and federal government decisions are closing churches and encouraging protest.

We don't know if Fauci has specifically recommended off record to close churches and leave protest alone. Fauci stuck by a general statement which may be exactly what he has recommended to state and federal government.

He can't say limit protests any more than he can say limit church services. He can only say being in a crowd is going to increase exposure and acquisition.

Don't get me wrong I don't like Fauci and I really like Jordan. But in this instance Jordan was pushing for Fauci to say something and insinuating that Fauci supports protest over church. Jordan knows Fauci isn't in the position to decide either one or the other so what's his angle?

Obama never made anyone wear masks not even for ebola, swine flu or zika!
