on your other point, I hate to tell you but city councils do not control the police or their extremely powerful unions, it is quite the opposite as a matter of fact. I am shocked that the council finally has the balls to do ANYTHING, regardless of whether it is right or wrong. It is almost unprecedented with the exception of Camden NJ perhaps.

I'm just making the point that this particular police department isn't the department to plant your flag in the ground over - it is a complete mess! Even the LAPD which is corrupt beyond belief, doesn't have to have a federal babysitter.

Living in eastern Washington I used to visit often. It is a beautiful city. But after this, I doubt I will ever go there again. It's insane.

media does not report it. City council talks to citizens in live stream council meetings. Over the last few weeks I cannot tell you how many really upset, angry and fed up people called to share their opinion as a matter of record. Not one person was against defunding the police. I heard no push back, in fact city council was listening and talking to the people in town hall meetings and it was probably the police attacking media and legal observers last weekend that pushed this over the edge into abolishing them. They are so filled with contempt and loathing that the people of Seattle will no longer pay them or supply them with weapons to use against us.

I tried to look up to see how many people were injured last weekend because I was watching a live stream and was horrified and frightened of the police behavior. They were rioting! Well I discovered that searching on google you only see how many police were injured and how many protesters arrested. Sorry but I want to know how many protesters were injured and if the police arrested the arsonists who lit the fire at the construction site. That information is not available. No one is reporting it! That is because the police most likely lit the goddamn fire so they could call it a riot and attack everyone with their CCW that they would have not had if the DOJ did not get involved. The attack by police was motivated by revenge. They are out of control and have no idea they are not the boss of us. They are supposed to serve the people of the city and if they do not, we need to change it up so we DO have the services we need.

I see people saying what are you going to do you have so much homelessness, so much crime. Well yes! Police do not deal with the homeless and they do not come if you call them for a burglary or car break in or and addict losing it. They fucking do not come when you call 911 unless they feel like it. So yeah, they do not do what they are needed for and they have to go. They are extremely dangerous to the people who live here!!!!

Just want to add that the police budget is larger than every other budget in fact is almost double the fire department and firemen actually are helpful and wonderful and want to do their job! They should get paid more. I have no idea how they grew that budget to the insane levels it became and they do nothing to help people, in fact they hate and have contempt for all people.
