Have you actually seen the stats of homeschooled kids, or homeschooled kid groups. I didn't think so.

Unless the child is extremely bright, homeschooling rarely works. A family member is a school district manager that has seen the claimed grades of homeschooled children.

When these homeschooled children want to re-enter the school system, they must take a few tests to place them in classes. 94% of homeschooled children, in this district, failed to pass grade level standardized tests. 68% would need to repeat their grade or would need to pay for a tutor to catch them up to grade level. 26% were one or more grade levels below average.

Homeschooling may start out as a noble quest, but parents begin to fail to monitor their children. kids would rather play Xbox than do work. It was also found that a few parents were completing their child’s assignments and tests.

I do agree that if school districts fail to open, then the funding should go to parent’s choice. You will see tutoring services boom, along with (now out of work) teacher co-ops.

We have family members that HS their kids...both did well on SAT and ACTs and both got admitted to 4 out of the 5 universities they applied to...including private and state colleges

Im in another state and in our area school district, 50% of home schooled kids failed to meet grade level. 7% exceeded grade level. It’s all public record because our tax dollars pay for their school work materials and online programs.

A friend lives in a state in the northwest of our country. Their tax dollars also pay for home schooling materials. 60% met grade level by high school. 4% exceeded grade level. The rest failed to reach grade level by high school and repeated a grade or paid for a tutor to reach grade level during the summer.

Just because your family members did well, it doesn’t mean they all do well.
