Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74273450 Kids would do better homeschooling anyway with a community effort. Have you actually seen the stats of homeschooled kids, or homeschooled kid groups. I didn't think so. Unless the child is extremely bright, homeschooling rarely works. A family member is a school district manager that has seen the claimed grades of homeschooled children. When these homeschooled children want to re-enter the school system, they must take a few tests to place them in classes. 94% of homeschooled children, in this district, failed to pass grade level standardized tests. 68% would need to repeat their grade or would need to pay for a tutor to catch them up to grade level. 26% were one or more grade levels below average. Homeschooling may start out as a noble quest, but parents begin to fail to monitor their children. kids would rather play Xbox than do work. It was also found that a few parents were completing their child’s assignments and tests. I do agree that if school districts fail to open, then the funding should go to parent’s choice. You will see tutoring services boom, along with (now out of work) teacher co-ops. Holy shit let’s see some sources because you just blatantly lied about most of that. What the hell man. |

If the home schooled child spent 4-6 weeks or extensive test-taking prior to the testing, they would do as well if not better. I tutored reading at our school system for 4th and 5th grades and the teachers told me, it turned into, essentially, a lockdown on real learning as they had to concentrate on teaching to the test and nothing else starting 4-6 weeks prior to the scheduling testing. |

I home schooled both my kids and when they went back they were more advanced than the rest of the class, and I only worked with them an hour a day, the rest they did on their own. I had to plan their homework on my lunch break, and I used my job's computer to print out assignments. I didn't have much of a budget, and I found my text books at the second hand store. When they went back to school they started having trouble again. |

Yup, we're too stupid to discern truth for ourselves, instead truth, and our entire lives are subject to dictate from others now. I was talking to a conservative teacher, who confided in me how stressful work is, and how all the teachers by majority are extreme leftists. This teacher told me the week after Trump got elected, they had a specially convened teacher work shop the next week; all in attendance, wore black clothing, as in morning a death.... That's who's teaching America's youth. [link to youtu.be (secure)] The dystopian nightmare comes to Ontario schools too. Look at how dehumanizing and nightmarish those masks look on adults at that press conference. You're right, a good deal of our communication with each other, is off of facial cues. They're trying to destroy our empathy, and compassion. |

You will see tutoring services boom, along with (now out of work) teacher co-ops. That’s BS Homeschooled kids do just as well...if not better...in standardized tests. We have family members that HS their kids...both did well on SAT and ACTs and both got admitted to 4 out of the 5 universities they applied to...including private and state colleges Well, great for them. Just because they did well doesn’t mean they all do well. Im in another state and in our area school district, 50% of home schooled kids failed to meet grade level. 7% exceeded grade level. It’s all public record because our tax dollars pay for their school work materials and online programs. A friend lives in a state in the northwest of our country. Their tax dollars also pay for home schooling materials. 60% met grade level by high school. 4% exceeded grade level. The rest failed to reach grade level by high school and repeated a grade or paid for a tutor to reach grade level during the summer. Just because your family members did well, it doesn’t mean they all do well. Could you process those links that show these statistics? If not, please explain how one gets to view these public records? Also, if the homeschoolers are teaching working math modules as opposed to the retarded new math imposed by Common Core, then yea, HS students will have an issue there with that test but likely not in the real world. Same goes for all of the subjects as much of assessment these days is based on a educational PC agenda that needs to pass the blame for their continuing failure. HS kids blow doors at the highest levels in all the competitions against public and private school students, which makes sense, since the philosophy of regular school models brings the top down as opposed to lifting the bottom up. Thrown in grade inflation which forced companies that need talent to emphasize accomplishments in tech oriented fields as opposed to a degree in said field. and on and on it goes...the left destroys everything it touches, education chiefly among them. Pretty much a Marxist's No. 1 goal, just look at the Maoist youth brigade that's developed. so yea shill... you got to be better with me around. |

I am very concerned for the kids who have to spend ALL DAY IN A FRIGGIN' MASK. Someone needs to ask Fauci about Hypoxic Brain Injury. Kids, not getting sufficient oxygen could develop big problems. You'll see it in 2 or 3 years when test scores take a nosedive across the country. "N95 masks are estimated to reduce oxygen intake by anywhere from 5 percent to 20 percent. That’s significant, even for a healthy person. It can cause dizziness and lightheadedness. For healthy people, these side effects are temporary and usually not an issue. But if you are severely ill and are continuously wearing an N95 mask for several hours at a time, it can damage the lungs. For a patient in respiratory distress, it can even be life threatening."
