In actuality, we fluctuate consciousness hundreds if not thousands of times every day, from waking states to daydreaming states to dreaming states to unconscious states.

Not too mention our ego is ever changing and evolving in it's waking state.

We also now know that everything is CONNECTED through the medium of the fabric of time and space. This is how CHANGE/ENERGY TRANSFER takes place.

If we are all connected then we are all ONE equation where every part effects every other part. Since everything is eternal, this is how we know that what ever energy we put out, will effect us again eventually.

So now we can see how the illusion of death is dispelled through revelation of facts and truth as well as how sin (ignorance which leads to harmful actions which ultimately result in self inflicting harm) an also be eradicated through the understanding of the processes of these facts and truth.

Perhaps the "lake of fire" is a metaphor for the subconscious mind and the transformation that occurs when these age old myths that have ruled our lives are finally vanquished by the power of "Light" (Awareness).

I may not be 100% spot on in my interpretation, but I think I have sufficiently illustrated how modern scientific data could only be described in archaic times through the use of metaphor and that we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss the ancients tales as "make believe" when they were performing high tech feats that we still cannot achieve today, like building the Pyramids of Giza.

Someone posted about a book that's about the mis-translations in the bible because of the type of Greek it was originally written in and they said the translation about hell being forever isn't translated correctly.

More along the lines of the really evil people bringing hell on themselves, but it's not forever. The emperors, kings and churches may have also wanted it extra scary for their own agendas.
