When I was young and had lots of teeth pulled out due to a car accident the dentist packed my gums with little packets like pillows that contained I believe was tobacco. It drew out the infection and I had no issues. Same effect that spitting on a clump of tobacco and putting it on a bee or hornet sting will draw out the venom. It worked for me. Maybe it will work for you.
