Get a lawyer if you can. Regardless, meet with the DA pre-hearing, explain the cop was tailgating and that’s why you were speeding. Say you will request the cop’s dash cam video of the incident during discovery for the trial. At the hearing plead not guilty, the judge will set a trial date. The DA will review the footage. If you’re telling the truth and the cop was tailgating, which is illegal even for a cop unless they are in pursuit with lights on (Eg., a failure to pull over), there is a good chance they will drop the charges.

Also some good advice.

1. Go to court. If you don't- you lose. Max fine, probably a bench warrant for your butt. That much over the limit in
my State gets the reckless driving charge. Lots of points on your license and insurance rates leap to new highs.


2. At least talk to a lawyer. They cost money but they can save you pain later in life. Try and find one who works with traffic/moving violations.


3. The cop? Who knows? A bad day, the need to get a quota,
you had a car that stood out. Most police now are little more than revenue enhancement agents for the government they work for. Best be quiet and take the ticket. Then cry to your lawyer.

tell the judge you had to pee really bad and have an issue with that and its embarrassing. ask if its okay to pee on the side of road. be humble. This is serious. they can take your license.

91 in a 65 here dude. probation, fined and community service and defensive driving but kept license.

Here’s a crazy idea. The truth. Go to court and tell the judge exactly what you just said. You were going the flow of traffic. You saw a car come up fast behind you in the fast lane. You sped up to get out of the way. Throw yourself on their mercy.
