West coast of US is mostly emergent coastline. East coast of US is mostly submergent coastline.

The East coast is only sinking a little bit over time because the far North of North America is still rising from the change in weight of glaciers being gone. The West coast would be sinking like that too except for the way the faults work i.e. pushing it up.
