You can't understand the Bible unless you have FAITH. The Bible says the only way to Heaven is belief in Jesus Christ. The religions of the world say you get to heaven by good works. But in Revelation the unsaved are cast into hell because of their WORKS. Go to a busy shopping store, look at people. Skulls on their clothing , promoting death. Notice the number 6 , serpent tongue, snakes on food packaging. We are living in the beast system now, but you are too blinded to notice. |

In Jesus Neither God Nor Man: The Case for a Mythical Jesus (2009) by Earl Doherty, he states:"... it is clear that Jesus of Nazareth, in each gospel, is simply a "front" for the particular set of theological and sectarian interests of those later Christian communities" (p. 397) By the same token, all of the institutionalized religions are fronts for the political authorities of the countries they are embedded in. It's time to ditch fairy tale religions and wake up to the harsh existential realities facing all mankind in this moment of crisis and despair. |

The Bible is just the biggest and the one that ties all the others together. No one controls your mind. Christians are supposed to want to change and become better people. Christians established most of the best schools in this country so that everyone could learn to read and get an education. Freedom is a central God-given right. |

Pagan societies often devolved into tyrannical systems of control accompanied by human sacrifices and cannibalism. No one dared look at Montezuma and the local tribes hated the Aztecs so much they helped Cortes with thousands of men and supplies. Tales of Native Indian cruelty to each other in N. America were not much better. The indians who helped the US cavalry win the West were often half-breeds and outcasts from the dominant tribes. The system we have now is as good as it will get given our propensity to corrupt every system. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76984449 If people would follow what Jesus said to do there would be no one killing each other. The law of Christ is all about love. But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44. Unfortunately those who want to kill can find justification for it in the Bible. For example, the Christians who persecuted and killed others for their unbelief used this verse to justify their actions: Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Well those who did that could call themselves Christians but they weren’t. Jesus told the first century Christians to preach, teach and baptize people. Not to kill them if they didn’t want to be Christians. He said to shake the dust off their shoes and leave if people didn’t want to listen. But yet it happened. Too bad that verse was inserted into the gospel of Matthew by the Romans when they created Christianity and made it mandatory for everyone to convert to it. The type of Christianity the Romans began was a polluted form. Not first century Christianity. It was a merger of pagan beliefs and Christian beliefs. Actually it was a pagan religion with a Christian veneer. Hence we now have Pagan celebrations such as Christmas and Easter. And of course many Christians not following Jesus command to love. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79210150 All organized religion is evil. False religion is evil. Jesus did command Christians to worship together though. They must follow in Jesus footsteps. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:25 No he did not....HE NEVER CREATED YOUR RELIGION.. HE CREATED NO RELIGION.. he demonstrated with FATHER within and taught your "religion" is your personal contact and relationship with your Personal Father divine Spirit FRAGMENT. He did not command anyone to worship together either. He did not command you to get to a fake church and worship this fake god. He created no church.. where two or more are gathered in my name.. there I am.. is not a church service.. It is people serving the Father together in ACTIONS. :NOT GOD: Yes Jesus did command his followers to worship together. Hebrews 10:24-25 Like sharpen like. He wants his followers to help one another. To strengthen one another. People of a feather do flock together. |

GOD, as Creator, has the authority to do whatever He wants. You thumb your nose at Him, then don't complain when you end up in the pit of fire. I can't wait for judgement day. All these leftist indignant self-righteous idiots will be screaming at GOD "HOW DARE YOU!". It's almost sad in a way. Funny, but sad. Dear brother or sister, check your heart. "I can't wait for judgement day." This is not a Christlike view. We shouldn't gloat when the wicked are punished. It's not our place to do so. And I take a less dim view, that Christ will draw all men to himself. Mercy triumphs over judgment. Perhaps I said it in words that weren't the best, and it's hard to read 'tone' on a post or text. However it is true - I can't wait for Judgement Day. Not that I myself am anything. I am nothing but a sinner who has accepted Jesus. It is GOD's mercy and grace that I appeal to. On Judgement Day the believers will be rewarded for their faith. Why shouldn't I be anxious for it? Evil will be destroyed. Again - another positive. I am not 'gloating' over anyone. Yes absolutely! I have to guard my heart just the same, it's hard not to wish suffering on evil people of the world. It's natural to want them to suffer for how they have made others suffer. I'm trying to figure out how, actually, we are supposed to love our enemies. Not sure really how to do that, other than perhaps to pray that they come to an understanding of repentance and truth. And to understand that they are sinners also in need of God’s love and Jesus sacrifice. We are all a big mess living in a world run by Satan who hates us. |

Very true. First and foremost we are to love. Everything is contained within that instruction. It's actually very simple, really (in theory anyway, if not necessarily in practice, LOL). |
